Positives: unlimited bandwidth, 50MB freespace, and FTP upload support.
Negatives: Low maximum file size, no PHP, and no MySQL (I'm not concerned about these).
My personal page has been hosted for more than 3 years. Downtimes are very rare (99.8% uptime, as they say, and as I detected). The free hosting server can be a little bit faster. It has great free service with great technical support - highly recommended.

I've been with AtSpace for more than a year now. There is very little downtime. There is ample free space for my personal website and the best thing about them is no advertisements on my site. Plus the free ftp makes it really easy to manage my files. I rate them 10/10 (considering it's a free service).

I think this hosting service is one of the best there is. I am using it for almost 2 years, and really I have no bad comment on this host. 50mb of disk space and unlimited traffic seems to be an excellent choice.

AtSpace makes it very easy to create and publish a home page free. The hosting server is fast. The maximum file size can be better, and I hope that can be improved! I recommend this website.

Atspace is a good Web host because you do not have annoying adds on free web pages and they never delete your account. I just came today on it and I think I have been a year not using it and yet my websites were online all that time, and my account was not deleted. You have a good storage capacity for html and other little pictures, and if you need more webspace just put your stuff on another free filehost server like filefront and then you have all that you need and you have a good bandwidth. Anyway, it's the best free webs provider I have seen yet so far.

I had absolutely no problems from the time I first got an account in august 2005 until a few weeks ago, when my browser access simply stopped - no errors, just no response at all. I used Opera, Firefox, and IE, but it made no difference. I tried from a different ISP - still no access. I could get to any site at the atspace.com domain that you could put a www in front of - such as the login page and the forums, but not to my virtual hosting site nor the sites of many other free virtual sites.
Support told me they could bring up my pages via a proxy with no problem; therefore it was not their problem but rather a vague ISP problem somewhere in the Net that they had no control over. When I found I could get access via an anonymous server, i.e. a service that gave me a different IP number, they finally admitted that their servers automatically block entire groups of IP numbers if they sense an attack originated from that IP number group. It is the deception that irritates me. They knew what the problem was when I first contacted them but two to three weeks went by with them denying it, and only finally admitting the truth when I diagnosed the problem myself.
They also employ the anti-phising technique of denying access if you simply list an aol.com email address or other equally commonly used words on the internet. These techniques seem crude - there are other answers. I realize it might not be cost-effective to implement proper procedures for free hosting services. I would not complain about it if they would simply announce that they block IP numbers and list the ones they are blocking. Instead they do not talk about it and lie until they are faced with undeniable evidence, wasting people's time and patience.

Atspace is fine if you do not need all the extra options that some freehosts offer, but it is bannerless free web space hosting and has POP3 mail, so that's a plus; nothing special though.

This service is the best free web hosting there is in my experience; recommended to all who want a free quality webhost with good speed without ads. I have been using it for about a month and have had no problems. GREAT SERVICE.
