Suitable for simple websites, since the files limit only 200kb size, and that's the first problem for me. Second ones, no PHP, MYSQL database, which means I can't move my fanlisting here. Anyways, I really like this one because it has no web hosting downtime (so far, and not that I remember), fast, and reliable server. The staff has been very helpfull too! I've been using it for almost a year already!

They are the most reliable free web hosting servers. They also have very good service and support and give you a very decent amount of web space for free website hosting.

I have wasted a tremendous amount of time on this free hosting service. I signed up, and got a message back saying that my account was successfully created and that I would be getting an email with my password and other info. The email never arrived. When I signed up, I was asked if I would like to receive email advertisements from some of Atspace's sponsors. Being a good sport, I said yes. I got those emails, but my password never arrived. I waited 24 hours, then used Atspace's "recover password" feature, which emails a new password if you lose yours. It told me that a new email had been sent, but again, I never received it. I do not have a spam filter on, so I know Atspace's emails aren't getting bounced. And I know I entered the right email address because the advertisements are still coming. So I tried to register for the Atspace forums so that I could get some help. But I got a cryptic error message and I could not login. I tried to register again, but it said that my user name and email address were already registered, and yet it won't let me login! So I cannot get help (they have no customer service), I cannot use my website, I cannot get a password. I have registered at other forums and with other hosting services and never had these problems. I am not sure why the account activation did not work for me, but does for so many others.

I do like their free web hosting service, although size can be a problem, especially the file size limit of what you can upload. But I will be moving my website from atspace because of 2 problems: ever since I moved my site here over a year ago, the email server is unreliable. Every month, some of my email is not delivered, and it goes down every 30 - 45 days for over 48 hours. Second problem: support is very slow to respond and they never give me a reason on why this happens. I just get a response from them finally a couple of days later saying the problem was cleared, even if all my messages aren't getting through. And I never get all my mail that was sent in that 48-hour period. Even in general, that's a big problem. But now I am looking for a job, and the problem happened -again- this whole weekend! I need reliable email. I can't keep asking people to send things again. Personally, it's a hassle for family and friends. For businesses, it makes me look ludicrous. And of course, I don't know what email I can be missing.
So, for free bannerless web hosting where you won't be using them for email (and no large file sizes), I recommend AtSpace. I will be keeping a couple small web sites there. Otherwise, you need to find a different host, like I'm doing now.

Excellent free hosting service (so far). If they offered a little more disk storage, PHP, CGI and SQL, this free host would rate a 10.

Best to know some HTML. Still the best free hosting service that I have seen thus far overall. Simply free web space hosting -- nothing less. Others tend to overcomplicate things. Of course some oversimplify things. This freewebspace website does what it says. Try it!
