Atspace is easy to sign up, has good ftp support, and no ads or banners. This is the best!

Okay, let's start with the plusses:
+ Very little downtime...only experienced 1, but I was so stupid that there were NO pages uploaded on the wesite. Oops! 
+ NO ADS! I can put my own on if I want.
+ Free POP3 email (I never use it, but I'm sure some will. I personally like webmail better.)
+ Hosts domains and subdomains. You can even use your own domain name and make subdomains on that. That's pretty cool!
+ Great response to posts on forums; only takes a little bit (usually post at night, and then see in morning).
Now to the minuses:
- You don't have your own custom error page when a link is typed in wrong.
- The redirect page has an advertisement that is not made exactly for family audiences.
So, in summary, "atspace = peace with webpage designers".

I like this host the best out of many others i've used! I love the lack of forced ads. No banners or framed ads.
