I looked for a long time for a place to experiment with website designs that would not cost a fortune. I also wanted to learn about designing websites. Atspace is fantastic and FREE hosting place. This is the best hosting I have come through. When I first started my web site it was a simple home page with text and some links. Many of the free webhosting space sites I got through had ads, not enough webspace, etc. Then I came to atspace, and when I first saw it, it did not look like much, but then I used it. I have been using this webhoster for 4 years now, and it is the best webhosting service I have met.

Although the service is okay, the address is a bit too long. Also, the service offers only 50mb of space. Typical free hosts would usually have at least 100mb of free space. I would not blame them on this because of all the sites it is hosting though. Even so, it would be much better if they allowed PHP scripting and offered MySQL databases. Overall it is okay, like I mentioned before, with little downtime if any, but is not perfect.

I have used ATspace free web hosting for over two years now and highly recommend it to anyone. The design and support features are excellent, with the upload speed very fast. I hope that the future may bring additional free space (I do all my family web sites) and an increase in the 200KB file upload maximum.

I have used atspace for hosting my web site for nearly 3 years. In that time I have found it very reliable with no down time. I would recommend atspace to anyone who wants a good fast server. Support is very good -- usually questions are answered within 20 minutes. For a free web site host, it is very good. My only little moan would be that if you are a complete novice you could find the file system a little difficult to master. But practice will make perfect.

When I first saw Atspace.com I was a bit cautious, as I have used many free hosts before that sounded good but turned out to be flops. Eventually I decided to use Atspace, and I have been pleasantly content with the services it provides. In my few years of using Atspace it has only gone down maybe 2 times, and not for very long time, something I can easily live with. The maximum filesize hardly limits my experience either. The only thing that was a tad annoying was that they will not load any webpages that have certain words on it, banned words which they list on their forums. But that is hardly enough to drive me away from service that has been otherwise wonderful, considering it is totally free hosting service. So all in all, I really enjoyed using atspace, and will continue to use them.

I have used AtSpace for about a year now, and I am very pleased with it. It is totally free webspace hosting, it has always been up, there is no advertising on your website, and it has ftp access. I feel lucky to find a free web site hoster with this level of quality. Great job, people! The only quirk is that a web page will give a 500 internal error if it contains funny characters, has certain forbidden keywords such as "amazon.com" (to prevent the most common kinds of phishing sites), or if the hyperlinks are too long. For example, the book links to Amazon.com books usually give me this error. You can replace them with Google search links for the book title and author instead. I mention it because it took me a while to figure out. I have not checked lately, so it is possible AtSpace has taken care of the problem.

I uploaded my old site with atspace some time ago, and I went to check it out again, and amazingly it was still up, with downloads and everything, all working perfectly, so I guess this is a good host with a proven track record, that will not disappear anytime soon.

Every so often I have noticed the servers experiencing a slowdown. That is the only drawback I have ever seen, and I have been using AtSpace for close to 2 years now. I am running 4 sub-domains off of it (my main one, a project-related one, one for my programming projects, and one for a Counter-Strike clan). I will admit that there are some things you have to deal with when you get down and dirty with it; but all can be worked around fairly easily, while remaining free. For example, downloadable files: Host them on a free file hosting site (such as QuickSharing,FileFront, MooLoad, or ohShare). For large images, host them on a free image-host site such as FreeImageHost.eu, PicTiger, ImageShack, or PhotoBucket.
