Finally! I have been hunting for a free, reliable and NO BANNERS free site like this for ages! Absolutely great services! The subdomain concept instead of catalogue (/username) is implemented here too.Highly Recommended!

I'm a new member of AtSpace and it seems really good. Does just what it says it does, free and with no ads whatsoever! Lots say they wont put ads on your free web site but do, but there really is no ad at all here :) I think 50mb of free space is also a very good deal. Very quick and easy uploads and the website is available for upload as soon as you sign up. You can have a free website up within minutes. I'm quite happy so far, needless to say! :)

Atspace is genuinely ad and pop-up free. I've been using it since March 2005 and have no problems with access. The only problem with it is that you can't edit online. So if you want to change a page you have to do it offline and reinstall. Nevertheless it is a good starter host.
