I think Atspace are a really good free web host because it is fast server, easy, and reliable web hosting free.

Have been a customer of atspace for about a year. The good part is there really is no ads or banners and it is quick. The bad part is that the downtime is the worst I have ever experienced. It is often down for extended periods and without warning. Sadly this could be the best free hosts on the web but the extreme downtime does not make up for the lack of ads and banners. I do not recommend them. there are other more responsible hosts.
Also... Sign Ups are currently closed for maintenance. They are currently upgrading their servers.

I was very excited at the begining, now I am just dissapointed. There has been several down times ever since I signed up, all of them for about 24 to 72 hours which is a really long time for a web page that has to be updated daily. Today is the last of the 72 hours period and their page doesnt even display.

Haven't had any problems with this free hosting site. I've been able to make my free web page pretty much everything I want it to be. If you need web hosting for free, this is the best site you can get it from. Better service than even some of the web hosts you have to pay for.
