"File Spacer" (filespacer.com) used to provide 1,000 MB freehosting with instant activation of free web space sites (U.S. residents with English websites only), but now the website control panel links to one of their other websites (Free-Hoster.cc), which is just a parked webpage of useless ads now. This is also the same company as 49mb.com and 450mb.com, so beware of those sites also.

The registration activation was instant, after entering minimal info. You can upload 10 files at once by a simple web file manager in a rather bare control panel. Their pages list several features that are not available, such as cron jobs. It also claims to have WYSIWYG, but only has a text editor -- I guess they mean is What-HTML-Text-You-See-Is-What-Will-Be-Rendered-With-Ads. The free webpages loaded quickly. They add 4 textlinks (to their various freehost domains) and also a 728x90 Google ad at the top of web pages. Uploaded shtml and php scripts did not work. Their TOS sounds as if they redirect users outside of the U.S. to an error page (to see ads), though it worked for me in South America. I tested their error 404 page, and it displays a Google ad. The freehost is the same as Free-Hoster.cc (which only offers 500 MB free web space - half as much), and 49mb.com and 450mb.com (both redirect to filespacer.com). They also offer a free file hosting service where you can upload files up to about 10 MB each. Your URL to your free home page looks like http://www.filespacer.com/users/user-name/
