According to Wikipedia, Telavir.org was the first free web hosting service in the United States, but now routes to Telavir.com and no longer offers free hosting services. The homepage redirects to Telavir.com, but the link for the freehosting plan seems to work:

The signup link goes to the rules (TOS), and then to a registration form on Telavir.com that offers bannerless free domain hosting ($0) with 10 MB free web space, 100 MB transfer monthly, and 1 Email POP3 address (also a web control panel, SSL secure server, web site statistics, Fantastico installer, custom error pages, CGI, PHP, SSI, FrontPage Server Extensions, Perl, and no banners or ads on freepages). Most of the other links on telavir.org are broken though.

This free web hosting site only offered a tiny bandwidth limit to free website users, but their site still exceeded its bandwidth limit.

I've been with Telavir since 2003 and I have had no problems. Even when they changed their customer management system I only had to change my password. Otherwise I had no problems.
