Worked fine till now, but 2 days ago the site simply went down, together with all my e-mail access. No way of contacting them, no way of finding out anything, and no way of knowing if it will ever be fixed - with a web hosting like that even free is too much - who wants a site that you cannot count on.

I am user of 000k2.com also. This host is (probably, I have to say 'was') really great. There it is possible to get services that impossible to get even on paid services, such as 100webspace.com. You will get 1 domain allowed, PHP, 1 MySQL DB, 500 MB of traffic and 250 MB of space.
2 days ago, 2-26-2005, I noticed that I can not login to Control Panel anymore (there was message about which many people already mentioned on recent posts). Also, when I tried to site that I am administrating, there was ERROR 508: Allowed bandwith exceed (usually, I am using 50 percents of bandwith as for middle of the month).
1 day ago, 2-27-2005, I started to make backup of site, and I was was not able to finish it because between 1 AM and 6 AM my backup manager had shown that host karaoke.000k2.com does not exist. I hope, they will be back soon.

They offer a lot for free service. No ads or links needed to be listed on your site with free acounts. Had no problems until now. I can't login to cpanel, I get a "Unactivated license file" message. Hopefully their license just expired and this problem will be fixed.

It seemed promising at first. I signed up with my email and filled out the form. Then, I waited... and waited... and waited and there was still no response. They did not send me my username nor email and I tried signing up with 2 of my emails. Still, for a week, no response. I suggest DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME signing up here and try something else.

I read some nice comments on this forum. Registered and received a signup confirmation mail. Never received the username/password. Waited for 3 days as per their e-mail. Still not received anything.. e-mailed them. no response. Real time waster.

This web host is not bad. but when you face any problem with your web hosting, dont expect them to help you. Whatever thing you ask them will be answered by an artoresponder asking you to see the FAQ. But there is nothing in FAQ that is useful to me. Now, i have problem with my control panel. When i login, it stated there "Unactivated license file". Is it me only or everybody is experiencing this problem? [My account works fine still.] The only thing that i grateful is my web site is still up. But i cant see my statistics now becoz the cpanel is not functioning. Can anyone tell me what is the problem here?
Another thing. They promise that they will give me 100 MB extra bandwidth every month if i refer 200 visitors to their site. I have refered more than 300 visitors to them but i dont think i get the extra bandwidth. Maybe they had given the extra bandwidth but it is not stated in the cpanel [they said it wouldn't be due to cpanel limitations.]. The percentage of the bandwidth meter reflected that my monthly bandwidth is still 500 MB.

I went to the site and apparently you need an ISP email, so if you have a free email such as yahoo or hotmail, 000k is not for you. Other than this the site looked pretty good.

I couldnt host since
1) i didnt get my login id and password
2) Using isp email is not good since i use an ISP who does not provide email. I had to use another id which is not common
3) i coulnd login to my cpanel and even after setting my name servers it couldnt find when i ping it
4) some links in the page doesnt work and there should be proper instructions for using and another option other than cpanel to login and administer

After getting and responding to the validation email it said that my account would be created automatically and if not it will be active w/ in 3 days. two weeks later, 4 emails (only got autoresponse to view the FAQ) later, and after a second signup attempt I have had no luck. I got no free hosting here. Frustrating.

This service seems to me almost impossible to sign up for. Its signup process, in which you have to provide just your e-mail address, legal name, postal address, and phone number, isn't complicated nor difficult, though.
I signed up on Feb. 2, received "Validation Email" and "Signup confirmation" immediately, and was told my account SHOULD have been created INSTANTLY but that if it was manually created, it would be created within 3 working days. But it didn't send me back any more e-mail and didn't give me my user information when 3 working days passed.
Although I contacted 000k and said it hadn't activated my account yet, it just e-mailed me back and told me to read FAQ, which didn't mention a problem like mine, because it didn't give any support to its free users. I tried to get in the signup process again by having it resend me the validation code, but when I signed up again, it rejected me and said it couldn't sign me up. (Probably bacause I was sort of already signed up for its service.)
I contacted it again and said I'd read FAQ before I contacted it for the first time and that I couldn't solve this problem by referring to FAQ or other information on the web. Then it didn't respond to me any more.
000k acknowledges the problem on the top page of its site, having said "Webhosting registration system was taken offline and upgraded after some users claimed that their registrations were not processed," on Dec. 26. However it is not only in its registration system but in 000k's sincerity that the problem exists. I strongly recommend this site, "Free Web Hosting" change its rating on 000k immediately.

I signed up for web hosting on 2/1/05 and quickly received a validation email and a signup email stating an account was created. I never received an email with my account information however and was not able to set up a website. If I attempt to signup again I get a message that an account already exists. When I attempted to contact them regarding this problem I got an email with a link to FAQ and a statement that they do not offer support with free web hosting. Without any account information the free web hosting is worthless.

There registration page is clearly broken. I looked at the script and it looks as though they commented out something to make it work. You decide whether this is intentional or not.
Seems a little strange. Any person with any php skills would know it wouldn't work.

I just signup with 000k last week and still have not recieved a client login name or password from them. They emailed me a validation. I follow the direction and did all they asked.
Then I recieved my Signup confirmation that stated. "Signup received. Your account should be created instantly.
However, if some information is missing or mismatched, account will be manually created. This may take up to 3 working days."
I emailed them with the problem and all I keep getting back is "Thank you for contacting 000k. Please try FAQ (http://000k.com/faq.php) if your question has been answered. 000k is a dedicated server company that provides 24/7 support to our server clients. We use our spare servers to host webhosting give-away users so that they may set up simple websites. We do not make any money from this service. Therefore, in order to keep costs low and continue this free service, we do not provide support for free users."
I checked FAQ and it did not anwer my question.

In a word - fantastic! Setting up the account was easy - email validation took a day or so, but after that, I was up and running in a matter of minutes. Services offered are great; there is a bandwidth limit, but for my purposes as a personal web page, more than adequate. and anyway, it's a free service! performance is good, with my pages loading speedily; FTP is a wee bit slow, but I'm not complaining. I'd recommend the service to anyone - so, so much better than the various banner-ad supported hosts out there.

I signed up with great hopes after reading all the glowing reviews. I got my sign-up validation e-mail, but no password, and I am unable to access my account. When I try to sign up again, I'm told there is already an account. And of course, support is nil for free accounts so it was no use trying to contact them, to find out how to log in.

Despite the moderatly low webspace and rather restrictive bandwidth, 000K is by far one of the BEST free hosts there is. I would recommend this host to any and everyone. There is no hassle whatsoever--it's fast, easy, and very powerful. I couldn't believe they offered CPanel for free! I've been a user with 000K for about a week now, and if I had found them sooner, I would still be a user! Downtime is virtually impossible to find with 000K. In one month, I believe, there was 100% UPTIME! 000K is also very fast (for me) and reliable, but my website isn't very content expensive, so I'm not completely certain on speed, but I'm sure 000K would be able to handle it in spades. After using 000K I feel as if I'm a paying member--all the features and ease-of-use is spectacular. If I ever look into business or something that would require a very powerful server to handle it, 000K would be my first and only choice.

Very quick setup, my e-mail accepted only after i used my comcast address. Was not allowing my to set it up with german .net e-mail. But all in all very pleased so far! Only 125 MB space and 500 MB monthly bandwidth, but i hope it's fast. thanks.

At first I didn't think the service was working, but it takes a few days to get the email with your account information. Even though they say the account is created instantly - it is, but you have to wait 4-5 days till you get the password and other info. Everything works great now - the cpanel is wonderful it does everything for you with just a click. Front page, Php, email even configs Outlook express for you. I recommend this service highly and find it easier to use than the website my paid isp provider gave me. Just be patient and you'll have a wonderful site.

I've been using 000k.com for about a month now and I find that it's an excellent free web hosting service. I have other sites hosted elsewhere (at a cost) and this free service is comparable, and in some cases better, than my paid webhosts. The cPanel interface is great, FTP uploads are fast, and having free access to a MySQL database is exceptional. Add to that free PHP and Perl access and NO annoying popups or mandatory banner ads like other "free" sites I have tried. I highly recommend this site to anyone who is looking for a free, reliable, and full-featured web hosting service.

After uploading my site and getting my PHP scripts finally running i am extremely glad to have chosen this host. My modest site barely makes use of the huge range of free features - MySQL support etc. - and after searching many free hosts IMHO this is the favourite. Fast and easy uploading and quality file managing utility, and some free site stats (hits/bandwidth etc). I have been only using this site for a few days so long term issues i am unaware of. Only possible flaw was that it took several hours to recieve my username/password, however i was glad i waited ;) Definitely recommend!

A week ago I would have rated this host a 10. I signed up a couple of months ago with my own domain name. They have a fantastic control panel with easy to follow instruction videos. My only disappointment was that you could only have one email address, and only use one SQL database. I wasn't complaining though because it was free.
They have Fantastico in the control panel that will automatically install a really cool extra feature on your website with the click of a button. Features like a blog, or bulletin board and much more.
The hosting seemed to be really fast. They do not have any customer support for free accounts. I noticed they were not 100% reliable. My web site had gone down a couple of times but was back up in less than a day.
Suddenly last week my web site disappeared completely. I couldn't sign in to the control panel or upload images/web pages to the server. I stopped getting my email delivered to my inbox. I had signed up as an affiliate and noticed that my web site is no longer listed as an affiliate web site.
I don't know why this happened to me. It was just a simple little personal web site and I don't think I broke any of their rules. I wasn't contacted by the company and no explanation has been given to me. I'm very disappointed in this web host and would not recommend that you use them.
I tried to sign-up again and was never emailed with the information I needed to sign-in to the control panel. I'm going back to my previous paid web hosting.

This is my first time doing web publishing. After reading many reviews I decided to give this hosting a try. I agree that signing up is a challenge. But don't give up. It will be worth it. The signup url is www.000k.com/hostsetup1.php. Give your company's or isp's email address as they don't accept yahoo, google or hotmail. I find that they use the same commercial administration software Cpanel that are avaialble in other paid hosting service.

After continuous attempts to sign up, I gave up on them. They never sent out the validation email even though the sign up page said it did and asked me to activate my account from the email. I was not using hotmail or yahoo (I tried and got rejected). I used other email address which they accepted. I waited for 1 day and never got the activation email.

They ask for your phone to sign you up, and you can't tell them a fake number because they CALL YOU to confirm your account. I've never heard of anyone who does that! and I not going to give my phone number to anyone. Read the FAQ!

i have never made through their signup process. so horrible it is. I dont know about their services but i can say for sure that their sign up process is very very very bad. i recieved a activation confirmation email and after clicking the link i did not get my account. i dont know why? i dont know how it managed to get on to the top position in the list.

I can't believe all that they give you for free: 125 MB, PHP, MySQL (1 database), no ads. Signup was very easy, and did not require a credit card number. The Control Panel is very rich in function. Some nice surprises: Linux server. PHPMyAdmin preloaded. It's FAST. When I told my husband about it he wanted to know what the catch was...The only catch I can think of is that they can terminate it at any time. Hey, for free I'm not complaining.

Great, great, host the free web hosting will make me pay when my server gets large enough to need it. The only problem I have with the site is no tech support for free hosts. I can understand the reasons why, but I have had a server on for a week and 2 days straight up time has been off and on. The only thing I would want is maybe an e-mail just stating why. The site looks a bit complicated and signup was not the easiest but the webhosting works great and it's free. Great to have powerful features that other pay sites charge too much for like full FTP, CGI, PHP, even some databases! The site and the whole interface reminds me of using Linux, not as visually appealing as hosts such as Yahoo but much more powerful. I use it for PHP gallery. The URL isn't very good to giveaway to people as they might misread it. I think it's 500Mb bandwidth unless you signup or refer people which is perfect for personal sites.

I have just signed up for this service today, but so far it looks GREAT! My site looks good, with no pop-ups (or even banner ads) to annoy my visitors. The control panel has a little bit of a learning curve, but it seems to be quite packed with features. The service offers perks one wouldn't expect to find with a free service - like hosting of my own domain name and cgi scripting. The file manager is very fast and easy to use; I like being able to upload multiple files. The only negatives I can comment on at all are that the link to sign up was a little hard to recognize for what it was, and the allowable bandwidth (although pretty good) is not as much as I would like. There's even a way provided there, though, as referrals earn you extra bandwidth. I am very pleased with this free web hosting!

1st they have NO customer service whatsoever. Not even a forum.
2nd The affiliate program is a sham. They say for every 200 visitors you send you get an extra 1 gig of bandwidth and for every 1000 you get upgraded to 200 meg on the server. Well they won't show you your alloted bandwidth (in cpanel; they state this) and after 1300+ referrals my disk space didn't increase at all.
Any and all emails sent to the "support" come back with a form mail saying "If your question was answered see the FAQs." Why would I go to the FAQs if my question was answered? I've sent at least 10 e-mails to the so called support and have never heard anything from them except the form letter.
Too many other good hosts out there to bother with these folks. How they are rated 124 out of 125 is beyond me.

The MySQL database is down for a few days (from Sunday 12/12 till now, still haven't resolved). The server was also down for a few days about a week ago, but I could access the cpanel. Neither of these downtime were mentioned in the hosting news, and the uptime check didn't show any downtime at all in December (a scam?). Tried to contact them a moment ago. Got the auto-respond which doesn't make sense (Try the FAQ if your question is answered). Still waiting for reply and the repair to take place. I'd say find another host, even though they have tons of features. The downtime would frustrate you.

Don't use them. I had an account a while back, and the service was ok for about 4 days, then everything dumped on me (mysql especially) and I mailed for some tech help/pointers. nothing.

First I'm a gal that looks for technical qualities, such as, reverse DNS listings, to see if the company actually has authoritive say over their IP addresses and domains, then I look at the way they handle their DNS and their download, and tier connections.
So, to start, the reverse dns transversals come back to "rootboxes.com" not 000k.com which tells me that they do not own the box or they don't own the IP addresses.
Secondly, they only have 2 name servers, which both appear to be the same server, because after ssh into the both name server's IP addresses, they both respond with the same host name, (the same host name as it gives me when logging into my "domain"). So this to me is BAD news, meaning that their dns server, and web server is all one box, and if I had to guess, their mail server is also on the same box. Simply put, if one goes down, they all do.
Third, is thier DNS management, their own domain name only has one record for the www record, this is also bad, meaning that they should have a secondary mirror server so if one is hacked or goes bad, it can rely on the second one, plus places a lesser load on the servers.
Well, other than that, my signup took about 4 weeks (1 month) and they don't do as they advertise, period. Their uptime is horrible, and not even worth mentioning, and their servers play the rubber-band theme, in a bouncing motion, Up and Down. I must say, this is definitely the best free hosting I've seen in my 8 years as a webmaster. 000k's got everything you will ever need. I put in my email and had my account set up instantly. There was no waiting or posting in boring forums.
Their control panel is cpanel, a very expensive server software which is way much better than any I've used. It makes it easy to access any feature. There are tons of them like PHP ASP MYSQL SUBDOMAINS ADDON DOMAINS FANTASTICO EMAILS.. the list just goes on! 000k definitely deserves to be the TOP OF THE LIST FREE WEB HOST. I just wished more people could see the effort you have put in to provide for people who cannot afford to pay for hosting. YOU ARE THE BEST EVER!! Thank you.

Well, I change my opinion. My website hit its bandwidth limit last month, and for the last couple days of November, it was down. no problem, kinda annoying. December 1st, still not up. Ok, maybe it doesn't reset on the 1st. December 3rd now and its still down. No email, my CPanel says I've used 0.00 mb this month, which is true. Still nothing.
A second thing. Absolutely NO SUPPORT! Use their contact form and all you get is a autoreply, but if you try emailing 000k at all, it says that theres no such domain and bounces it back to you.
All-in-all, this is a horrible host. The Afilliate program takes too long to even matter for most people, and 500mb bandwidth isn't enough to keep some people going, or at least re-activate the site at the beginning of the month.

This is an amazing website host. It is great it gives you a nice bit of space 125mb and almost half a gig of bandwith, 500mb. However its best features are on its interface. Its cpanel is just amazing making it great for novices and experts alike. Also it allows many scripts and add-ons to your website so a person is not forced to do one thing.

I had an acount was cool then it was canceled without any reason. I didnt break any of the rules. When I contacted them I had no reply. I contacted them about 6 time over two months with no reply. The most anoying thing is I had just updated site and hadnt backed it up so lost hours of work. use this host at your own risk and make sure you backup everything incase they do the same to you.

Pretty good site. Only one that I could find that didn't have alot of junk, and was easy to set up. I was looking for a site to host a 110MB file and this is what I found. Most other free sites have a limit on file size, but not this one. Too bad I used all of my 500MB bandwidth for the month, downloading that file at school, (and other classmates downloading). Pretty good site though.

I rate this free webhost a 10 because:
Firstly - there are no banner ads
Secondly - no popups
Thirdly - very fast servers with losts of extra features, with an informative interface GUI.
I have other free sites that unfortunately are plagued with banner ads, I wish I could transfer my other sites, but I am grateful for the space they have provided for me.

I do not have much here as yet, since the main focus has been on the forums that are currently undergoing maintenance (and hence unavailable) but do hope to have a proper and fully functional site soon.
On a better note, the service and response to problems has been exceptionally fast. This has been my first experience administering a website through CPanel - and I must say that I am grateful for them including it in the free hosting package. It has saved me several hours of setup time - and also allowed me to easily setup sub-accounts to allow the few people that have been assisting me with content to post the changes and new pages.
All in all, a good host, even if it is a bit misleading as to where to sign up for the free hosting.

Signed up,provided all correct details, regardless of how dubious I felt about providing my home phone number to an unidentified entity. Got the validation email etc. But no login details. Nothing. The site is up so to speak, but I can't use it as I have no login details. What a painful experience!, I have been waiting days now, and all the while the site that is ready to be uploaded waits. and waits. and makes me look like a fool for the others who are waiting to use it for our gaming clan. Guess I will ignore free webhosting services after all, I mean, what is the problem with automating a login details reply guys? I can do it from my websites, why can't you guys get it together? What a way to ruin a beautiful offer by not following through! I have so many people I was intending to refer, but I'll not be doing that now will I!? Half of them would have taken paid hosting from you and you've blown it. Internet is meant to reduce wasted time, not increase it.

Went to the sign up page. Took a short time, maybe 45 sec to find the sign up link. Hit it, entered the info, immediately got a reply with a e-mail verification link, clicked it and within 5 hours was sent all the info on how to log into the control panel for my web site. Been a perfect experiance so far. Even had a quick way to setup a redirect so I could point it to my other web site till I have time to set up this one. Started with 125 meg of space and 500 meg per month bandwidth.

The service wasn't as good as I expected after reading all the reviews about this website. The site mgt panel just didn't show up even after I logged in. So I supposed that I'm suppose to write this review first before I'm allowed to log in completely. Just need to review their automated sign up system. The emails that they sent to me aren't really clear about what I should do to get into my site.

It's a really good host as far as I can tell. The only thing I don't like about it is you have to wait for the email. That's ok tho cuz it comes eventually. Shyper is a really good Host But this one is a bit better cuz you can make your own Error pages. I like that feature.

This is an excellent FREE Webhosting service. So far we have only experienced one evening with a HTTP service outage (in about one month of use) so I have to estimate downtime to be less than .5%. The FTP service was active during that period. Performance has been very good. Support includes CPANEL flash tutorials and a good user interface. If we need more bandwidth, I plan to use the same hosting service.

well.. it might be a good host, if I could register with it. found the link to the free account, entered my mail and nothing.. not a single reply, so far I've used five diffrent legit ISP mail accounts on that signup page but I still haven't recieved any mail from them with the needed info to get a account. I guess their 'anti-spam' system that only accepts signup requests from legit ISP mail accounts is somewhat borked and is either too strict or most propably don't have a extended list of legit ISP adresses.

Although I have only been with 00K for a couple days. I find it to be the best free host ... and I've tried alot of them. Speed is incredible. The only negative thing I have to say is when I log onto CPanel there's a pesky reminder in red saying "No contact email has been set. You will be unable to receive notifications or reset your password if you do not set a contact email address." And I've set it.
[That is a feature in all versions of Cpanel - you have to set in the Cpanel, and the message will go away.]

I've had some trouble just to find the web "give away" offering. I had to register twice before getting something: apparently they recently changed their policy and reject email adresses from free mail (yahoo.com in my case). I finally got a response w/ a confirmation link, that I clicked. I received a confirmation email stating that everything was ok and that everything should be up 30 minutes later. 3 weeks from now and I keep on getting an "unresolved host name" error when I try to access the cpanel.
No news from nowhere. I guess that this promo was a way to create traffic on their service and that they suspended it. Or maybe worse, that their DNS management is really bad ...

Could not even find out how to access the CPanel to add an FTP account, and I supposedly have a 142 QI... there's gotta be a problem, but I never got an answer except to got look at the FAQ. Which says nothing about not being able to access the CPanel.
Bravo, you got my interest kicked out far away! I guess I will go with "heydo.com" despite the "Hosted by Heydo free hosting" mention at the bottom of each page.
