Worked fine till now, but 2 days ago the site simply went down, together with all my e-mail access. No way of contacting them, no way of finding out anything, and no way of knowing if it will ever be fixed - with a web hosting like that even free is too much - who wants a site that you cannot count on.

I am user of 000k2.com also. This host is (probably, I have to say 'was') really great. There it is possible to get services that impossible to get even on paid services, such as 100webspace.com. You will get 1 domain allowed, PHP, 1 MySQL DB, 500 MB of traffic and 250 MB of space.

2 days ago, 2-26-2005, I noticed that I can not login to Control Panel anymore (there was message about which many people already mentioned on recent posts). Also, when I tried to site that I am administrating, there was ERROR 508: Allowed bandwith exceed (usually, I am using 50 percents of bandwith as for middle of the month).

1 day ago, 2-27-2005, I started to make backup of site, and I was was not able to finish it because between 1 AM and 6 AM my backup manager had shown that host karaoke.000k2.com does not exist. I hope, they will be back soon.

They offer a lot for free service. No ads or links needed to be listed on your site with free acounts. Had no problems until now. I can't login to cpanel, I get a "Unactivated license file" message. Hopefully their license just expired and this problem will be fixed.

It seemed promising at first. I signed up with my email and filled out the form. Then, I waited... and waited... and waited and there was still no response. They did not send me my username nor email and I tried signing up with 2 of my emails. Still, for a week, no response. I suggest DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME signing up here and try something else.

I read some nice comments on this forum. Registered and received a signup confirmation mail. Never received the username/password. Waited for 3 days as per their e-mail. Still not received anything.. e-mailed them. no response. Real time waster.

This web host is not bad. but when you face any problem with your web hosting, dont expect them to help you. Whatever thing you ask them will be answered by an artoresponder asking you to see the FAQ. But there is nothing in FAQ that is useful to me. Now, i have problem with my control panel. When i login, it stated there "Unactivated license file". Is it me only or everybody is experiencing this problem? [My account works fine still.] The only thing that i grateful is my web site is still up. But i cant see my statistics now becoz the cpanel is not functioning. Can anyone tell me what is the problem here?
Another thing. They promise that they will give me 100 MB extra bandwidth every month if i refer 200 visitors to their site. I have refered more than 300 visitors to them but i dont think i get the extra bandwidth. Maybe they had given the extra bandwidth but it is not stated in the cpanel [they said it wouldn't be due to cpanel limitations.]. The percentage of the bandwidth meter reflected that my monthly bandwidth is still 500 MB.

WOW! these guys are unreal, I had a full on website live to the web in less than 10 minutes. Everything I need to get started and more. I believe that this is the best hosting service on the web.

I went to the site and apparently you need an ISP email, so if you have a free email such as yahoo or hotmail, 000k is not for you. Other than this the site looked pretty good.

I've been very satisfied with the service provided by this host. My site is rarely to never down and it's a pretty fast service. They support all the features I need to keep my blog up and running as well so I've no complaints there. This is a great free web host i highly recommend.

I couldnt host since
1) i didnt get my login id and password
2) Using isp email is not good since i use an ISP who does not provide email. I had to use another id which is not common
3) i coulnd login to my cpanel and even after setting my name servers it couldnt find when i ping it
4) some links in the page doesnt work and there should be proper instructions for using and another option other than cpanel to login and administer

After getting and responding to the validation email it said that my account would be created automatically and if not it will be active w/ in 3 days. two weeks later, 4 emails (only got autoresponse to view the FAQ) later, and after a second signup attempt I have had no luck. I got no free hosting here. Frustrating.

This service seems to me almost impossible to sign up for. Its signup process, in which you have to provide just your e-mail address, legal name, postal address, and phone number, isn't complicated nor difficult, though.

I signed up on Feb. 2, received "Validation Email" and "Signup confirmation" immediately, and was told my account SHOULD have been created INSTANTLY but that if it was manually created, it would be created within 3 working days. But it didn't send me back any more e-mail and didn't give me my user information when 3 working days passed.

Although I contacted 000k and said it hadn't activated my account yet, it just e-mailed me back and told me to read FAQ, which didn't mention a problem like mine, because it didn't give any support to its free users. I tried to get in the signup process again by having it resend me the validation code, but when I signed up again, it rejected me and said it couldn't sign me up. (Probably bacause I was sort of already signed up for its service.)

I contacted it again and said I'd read FAQ before I contacted it for the first time and that I couldn't solve this problem by referring to FAQ or other information on the web. Then it didn't respond to me any more.

000k acknowledges the problem on the top page of its site, having said "Webhosting registration system was taken offline and upgraded after some users claimed that their registrations were not processed," on Dec. 26. However it is not only in its registration system but in 000k's sincerity that the problem exists. I strongly recommend this site, "Free Web Hosting" change its rating on 000k immediately.

I signed up for web hosting on 2/1/05 and quickly received a validation email and a signup email stating an account was created. I never received an email with my account information however and was not able to set up a website. If I attempt to signup again I get a message that an account already exists. When I attempted to contact them regarding this problem I got an email with a link to FAQ and a statement that they do not offer support with free web hosting. Without any account information the free web hosting is worthless.

There registration page is clearly broken. I looked at the script and it looks as though they commented out something to make it work. You decide whether this is intentional or not.
Seems a little strange. Any person with any php skills would know it wouldn't work.

I just signup with 000k last week and still have not recieved a client login name or password from them. They emailed me a validation. I follow the direction and did all they asked.

Then I recieved my Signup confirmation that stated. "Signup received. Your account should be created instantly.
However, if some information is missing or mismatched, account will be manually created. This may take up to 3 working days."

I emailed them with the problem and all I keep getting back is "Thank you for contacting 000k. Please try FAQ (http://000k.com/faq.php) if your question has been answered. 000k is a dedicated server company that provides 24/7 support to our server clients. We use our spare servers to host webhosting give-away users so that they may set up simple websites. We do not make any money from this service. Therefore, in order to keep costs low and continue this free service, we do not provide support for free users."

I checked FAQ and it did not anwer my question.

Signed up Feb. 1st, email confirmations came quickly. However login information did not arrive till Feb. 4th. They had me wondering for awhile. Site is up and running. Would highly recommend this free web hosting service. The tools are very good.

I have received the validation email after a real pain in finding the free registration hidden link. If they dont want to offer free web hosting, why do they exist on this site? anyhow, after validating my email, I have never received my login informations. It's been a week so far.

In a word - fantastic! Setting up the account was easy - email validation took a day or so, but after that, I was up and running in a matter of minutes. Services offered are great; there is a bandwidth limit, but for my purposes as a personal web page, more than adequate. and anyway, it's a free service! performance is good, with my pages loading speedily; FTP is a wee bit slow, but I'm not complaining. I'd recommend the service to anyone - so, so much better than the various banner-ad supported hosts out there.

I signed up with great hopes after reading all the glowing reviews. I got my sign-up validation e-mail, but no password, and I am unable to access my account. When I try to sign up again, I'm told there is already an account. And of course, support is nil for free accounts so it was no use trying to contact them, to find out how to log in.

Despite the moderatly low webspace and rather restrictive bandwidth, 000K is by far one of the BEST free hosts there is. I would recommend this host to any and everyone. There is no hassle whatsoever--it's fast, easy, and very powerful. I couldn't believe they offered CPanel for free! I've been a user with 000K for about a week now, and if I had found them sooner, I would still be a user! Downtime is virtually impossible to find with 000K. In one month, I believe, there was 100% UPTIME! 000K is also very fast (for me) and reliable, but my website isn't very content expensive, so I'm not completely certain on speed, but I'm sure 000K would be able to handle it in spades. After using 000K I feel as if I'm a paying member--all the features and ease-of-use is spectacular. If I ever look into business or something that would require a very powerful server to handle it, 000K would be my first and only choice.

Very quick setup, my e-mail accepted only after i used my comcast address. Was not allowing my to set it up with german .net e-mail. But all in all very pleased so far! Only 125 MB space and 500 MB monthly bandwidth, but i hope it's fast. thanks.

At first I didn't think the service was working, but it takes a few days to get the email with your account information. Even though they say the account is created instantly - it is, but you have to wait 4-5 days till you get the password and other info. Everything works great now - the cpanel is wonderful it does everything for you with just a click. Front page, Php, email even configs Outlook express for you. I recommend this service highly and find it easier to use than the website my paid isp provider gave me. Just be patient and you'll have a wonderful site.

I've been using 000k.com for about a month now and I find that it's an excellent free web hosting service. I have other sites hosted elsewhere (at a cost) and this free service is comparable, and in some cases better, than my paid webhosts. The cPanel interface is great, FTP uploads are fast, and having free access to a MySQL database is exceptional. Add to that free PHP and Perl access and NO annoying popups or mandatory banner ads like other "free" sites I have tried. I highly recommend this site to anyone who is looking for a free, reliable, and full-featured web hosting service.

After uploading my site and getting my PHP scripts finally running i am extremely glad to have chosen this host. My modest site barely makes use of the huge range of free features - MySQL support etc. - and after searching many free hosts IMHO this is the favourite. Fast and easy uploading and quality file managing utility, and some free site stats (hits/bandwidth etc). I have been only using this site for a few days so long term issues i am unaware of. Only possible flaw was that it took several hours to recieve my username/password, however i was glad i waited ;) Definitely recommend!

A week ago I would have rated this host a 10. I signed up a couple of months ago with my own domain name. They have a fantastic control panel with easy to follow instruction videos. My only disappointment was that you could only have one email address, and only use one SQL database. I wasn't complaining though because it was free.

They have Fantastico in the control panel that will automatically install a really cool extra feature on your website with the click of a button. Features like a blog, or bulletin board and much more.

The hosting seemed to be really fast. They do not have any customer support for free accounts. I noticed they were not 100% reliable. My web site had gone down a couple of times but was back up in less than a day.

Suddenly last week my web site disappeared completely. I couldn't sign in to the control panel or upload images/web pages to the server. I stopped getting my email delivered to my inbox. I had signed up as an affiliate and noticed that my web site is no longer listed as an affiliate web site.

I don't know why this happened to me. It was just a simple little personal web site and I don't think I broke any of their rules. I wasn't contacted by the company and no explanation has been given to me. I'm very disappointed in this web host and would not recommend that you use them.

I tried to sign-up again and was never emailed with the information I needed to sign-in to the control panel. I'm going back to my previous paid web hosting.

This is my first time doing web publishing. After reading many reviews I decided to give this hosting a try. I agree that signing up is a challenge. But don't give up. It will be worth it. The signup url is www.000k.com/hostsetup1.php. Give your company's or isp's email address as they don't accept yahoo, google or hotmail. Then wait a few hours to receive your account name and password. You login to your.domain.url/cpanel with your username and password. You can get more info on the setup via www.000k.com/serverguides.php.

I find that they use the same commercial administration software Cpanel that are avaialble in other paid hosting service.

If you need more support for the first-time user like me, you can go to http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/index.html which provides faq and flash movies that are also applicable to 000k site since they both use cpanel.

No doubt this is the best free hosting. Thank you.

After continuous attempts to sign up, I gave up on them. They never sent out the validation email even though the sign up page said it did and asked me to activate my account from the email. I was not using hotmail or yahoo (I tried and got rejected). I used other email address which they accepted. I waited for 1 day and never got the activation email.

[They no longer accept appilications from certain countries. I haven't seen an exact list though.]

Great! You have 200MByte of free space and one MySQL db to create! I found some difficulties in domain subscription procedure (it's hidden) and in server setup from CPanel X, but after this it works great!

i have never made through their signup process. so horrible it is. After looking extensively for a web host to fit our needs, we are very happy to rate this as by far tops. The easy-to-use interface and cPanel are a definate plus. I can't believe all that they give you for free: 125 MB, PHP, MySQL (1 database), no ads. Signup was very easy, and did not require a credit card number. The Control Panel is very rich in function. Some nice surprises: Linux server. PHPMyAdmin preloaded. It's FAST. When I told my husband about it he wanted to know what the catch was...The only catch I can think of is that they can terminate it at any time. Hey, for free I'm not complaining.

Great, great, host the free web hosting will make me pay when my server gets large enough to need it. The only problem I have with the site is no tech support for free hosts. I can understand the reasons why, but I have had a server on for a week and 2 days straight up time has been off and on. The only thing I would want is maybe an e-mail just stating why. Other than that one request I recommend 000k.com webhosting for payed and free sites %100, 2 thumbs up, 4 star, and 5 mics.

I've only started using this today as I used to be on Chromehost. Due to a LOT of downtime on that particluar host, I decided to change to 000k and so far it's been incredibly quick and easy. Everything is Great so far. It's only been a couple weeks, but there has been no problems or downtime whatsoever. The site looks a bit complicated and signup was not the easiest but the webhosting works great and it's free. Great to have powerful features that other pay sites charge too much for like full FTP, CGI, PHP, even some databases! The site and the whole interface reminds me of using Linux, not as visually appealing as hosts such as Yahoo but much more powerful. I use it for PHP gallery. The URL isn't very good to giveaway to people as they might misread it. I think it's 500Mb bandwidth unless you signup or refer people which is perfect for personal sites.

Wow, this is awesome! It took a couple days to get started, but no ads, 125 Mb, and a really sweet control panel. You can customize error pages, add several ftp accounts, and everything. Only drawback - you can't use a free email account like hotmail or msn.

At first it was kind of hard to believe. A free web host that gives over 100MBs of storage and 500MBs of transfer a month, for free? An affiliate program with the web host that can get you more storage space and bandwidth, that is also free? I was so glad that I made my account. - So far, site has always been up, except for about an hour today. I'm hoping this was an uncommon one-off.
- Highly recommended because it has no advertising and also it permits domain-name cloaking (loading it in a frame from a redirected URL), this is useful because I want the visitors to remember my main domain name that it came from. They can still see the jevan.000k2.com domain name if they hover the mouse on any of my links, which is fine.

I have just signed up for this service today, but so far it looks GREAT! My site looks good, with no pop-ups (or even banner ads) to annoy my visitors. The control panel has a little bit of a learning curve, but it seems to be quite packed with features. The service offers perks one wouldn't expect to find with a free service - like hosting of my own domain name and cgi scripting. The file manager is very fast and easy to use; I like being able to upload multiple files. The only negatives I can comment on at all are that the link to sign up was a little hard to recognize for what it was, and the allowable bandwidth (although pretty good) is not as much as I would like. There's even a way provided there, though, as referrals earn you extra bandwidth. I am very pleased with this free web hosting!

1st they have NO customer service whatsoever. Not even a forum.

2nd The affiliate program is a sham. They say for every 200 visitors you send you get an extra 1 gig of bandwidth and for every 1000 you get upgraded to 200 meg on the server. Well they won't show you your alloted bandwidth (in cpanel; they state this) and after 1300+ referrals my disk space didn't increase at all.

Any and all emails sent to the "support" come back with a form mail saying "If your question was answered see the FAQs." Why would I go to the FAQs if my question was answered? I've sent at least 10 e-mails to the so called support and have never heard anything from them except the form letter.

Too many other good hosts out there to bother with these folks. How they are rated 124 out of 125 is beyond me.

The MySQL database is down for a few days (from Sunday 12/12 till now, still haven't resolved). The server was also down for a few days about a week ago, but I could access the cpanel. Neither of these downtime were mentioned in the hosting news, and the uptime check didn't show any downtime at all in December (a scam?). Tried to contact them a moment ago. Got the auto-respond which doesn't make sense (Try the FAQ if your question is answered). Still waiting for reply and the repair to take place. I'd say find another host, even though they have tons of features. The downtime would frustrate you.

First I'm a gal that looks for technical qualities, such as, reverse DNS listings, to see if the company actually has authoritive say over their IP addresses and domains, then I look at the way they handle their DNS and their download, and tier connections.

So, to start, the reverse dns transversals come back to "rootboxes.com" not 000k.com which tells me that they do not own the box or they don't own the IP addresses.

Secondly, they only have 2 name servers, which both appear to be the same server, because after ssh into the both name server's IP addresses, they both respond with the same host name, (the same host name as it gives me when logging into my "domain"). So this to me is BAD news, meaning that their dns server, and web server is all one box, and if I had to guess, their mail server is also on the same box. Simply put, if one goes down, they all do.

Third, is thier DNS management, their own domain name only has one record for the www record, this is also bad, meaning that they should have a secondary mirror server so if one is hacked or goes bad, it can rely on the second one, plus places a lesser load on the servers.

Well, other than that, my signup took about 4 weeks (1 month) and they don't do as they advertise, period. Their uptime is horrible, and not even worth mentioning, and their servers play the rubber-band theme, in a bouncing motion, Up and Down. Also their email servers are blocked by most black lists known to the internet (REF: dsbl.org, ordb.org, etc).

Would I recommend them? ummmm.... NO!

I must say, this is definitely the best free hosting I've seen in my 8 years as a webmaster. 000k's got everything you will ever need. I put in my email and had my account set up instantly. There was no waiting or posting in boring forums.
Their control panel is cpanel, a very expensive server software which is way much better than any I've used. It makes it easy to access any feature. There are tons of them like PHP ASP MYSQL SUBDOMAINS ADDON DOMAINS FANTASTICO EMAILS.. the list just goes on! 000k definitely deserves to be the TOP OF THE LIST FREE WEB HOST. Well, I change my opinion. My website hit its bandwidth limit last month, and for the last couple days of November, it was down. no problem, kinda annoying. December 1st, still not up. Ok, maybe it doesn't reset on the 1st. December 3rd now and its still down. No email, my CPanel says I've used 0.00 mb this month, which is true. Still nothing.

A second thing. Absolutely NO SUPPORT! Use their contact form and all you get is a autoreply, but if you try emailing 000k at all, it says that theres no such domain and bounces it back to you.

All-in-all, this is a horrible host. The Afilliate program takes too long to even matter for most people, and 500mb bandwidth isn't enough to keep some people going, or at least re-activate the site at the beginning of the month.

I had an acount was cool then it was canceled without any reason. I didnt break any of the rules. When I contacted them I had no reply. I contacted them about 6 time over two months with no reply. The most anoying thing is I had just updated site and hadnt backed it up so lost hours of work. use this host at your own risk and make sure you backup everything incase they do the same to you.

Pretty good site. Only one that I could find that didn't have alot of junk, and was easy to set up. I was looking for a site to host a 110MB file and this is what I found. Most other free sites have a limit on file size, but not this one. Too bad I used all of my 500MB bandwidth for the month, downloading that file at school, (and other classmates downloading). Pretty good site though.

I rate this free webhost a 10 because:

Firstly - there are no banner ads
Secondly - no popups
Thirdly - very fast servers with losts of extra features, with an informative interface GUI.

I have other free sites that unfortunately are plagued with banner ads, I wish I could transfer my other sites, but I am grateful for the space they have provided for me.

I do not have much here as yet, since the main focus has been on the forums that are currently undergoing maintenance (and hence unavailable) but do hope to have a proper and fully functional site soon.

On a better note, the service and response to problems has been exceptionally fast. This has been my first experience administering a website through CPanel - and I must say that I am grateful for them including it in the free hosting package. It has saved me several hours of setup time - and also allowed me to easily setup sub-accounts to allow the few people that have been assisting me with content to post the changes and new pages.

All in all, a good host, even if it is a bit misleading as to where to sign up for the free hosting.

Signed up,provided all correct details, regardless of how dubious I felt about providing my home phone number to an unidentified entity. Got the validation email etc. But no login details. Nothing. The site is up so to speak, but I can't use it as I have no login details. What a painful experience!, I have been waiting days now, and all the while the site that is ready to be uploaded waits. and waits. and makes me look like a fool for the others who are waiting to use it for our gaming clan. Guess I will ignore free webhosting services after all, I mean, what is the problem with automating a login details reply guys? I can do it from my websites, why can't you guys get it together? What a way to ruin a beautiful offer by not following through! I have so many people I was intending to refer, but I'll not be doing that now will I!? Half of them would have taken paid hosting from you and you've blown it. Internet is meant to reduce wasted time, not increase it.

Went to the sign up page. Took a short time, maybe 45 sec to find the sign up link. Hit it, entered the info, immediately got a reply with a e-mail verification link, clicked it and within 5 hours was sent all the info on how to log into the control panel for my web site. Been a perfect experiance so far. Even had a quick way to setup a redirect so I could point it to my other web site till I have time to set up this one. Started with 125 meg of space and 500 meg per month bandwidth.

The service wasn't as good as I expected after reading all the reviews about this website. The site mgt panel just didn't show up even after I logged in. So I supposed that I'm suppose to write this review first before I'm allowed to log in completely. Just need to review their automated sign up system. It's a really good host as far as I can tell. The only thing I don't like about it is you have to wait for the email. That's ok tho cuz it comes eventually. Shyper is a really good Host But this one is a bit better cuz you can make your own Error pages. I like that feature.

This is an excellent FREE Webhosting service. So far we have only experienced one evening with a HTTP service outage (in about one month of use) so I have to estimate downtime to be less than .5%. The FTP service was active during that period. Performance has been very good. Support includes CPANEL flash tutorials and a good user interface. If we need more bandwidth, I plan to use the same hosting service.

well.. it might be a good host, if I could register with it. found the link to the free account, entered my mail and nothing.. not a single reply, so far I've used five diffrent legit ISP mail accounts on that signup page but I still haven't recieved any mail from them with the needed info to get a account. I guess their 'anti-spam' system that only accepts signup requests from legit ISP mail accounts is somewhat borked and is either too strict or most propably don't have a extended list of legit ISP adresses.

Although I have only been with 00K for a couple days. I find it to be the best free host ... and I've tried alot of them. Speed is incredible. The only negative thing I have to say is when I log onto CPanel there's a pesky reminder in red saying "No contact email has been set. You will be unable to receive notifications or reset your password if you do not set a contact email address." And I've set it.
[That is a feature in all versions of Cpanel - you have to set in the Cpanel, and the message will go away.]

I've had some trouble just to find the web "give away" offering. I had to register twice before getting something: apparently they recently changed their policy and reject email adresses from free mail (yahoo.com in my case). I finally got a response w/ a confirmation link, that I clicked. I received a confirmation email stating that everything was ok and that everything should be up 30 minutes later. 3 weeks from now and I keep on getting an "unresolved host name" error when I try to access the cpanel.

No news from nowhere. I guess that this promo was a way to create traffic on their service and that they suspended it. Or maybe worse, that their DNS management is really bad ...

Could not even find out how to access the CPanel to add an FTP account, and I supposedly have a 142 QI... there's gotta be a problem, but I never got an answer except to got look at the FAQ. Which says nothing about not being able to access the CPanel.

I agree, this is one of the best I've seen. I love the affiliate program. It makes it truly free. With only 5, I repeat 5! referrals, I got an extra addon domain, AND an extra parked domain. They say your on a lower grade machine, but if you look closely, the Free accts are hosted on the 000k2.com machine, which is the more powerful one, and the paid accts are on the 000k.com machine, the lesser grade. The only problem is that when you sign up, it takes awhile to get your email. I had mine the day after I signed up. I got home from school, and there it was. And now I aleady have a decent site coming up. If your looking for a good webhost and don't mind waiting a day or 2, go for 000k. and put your referral link on your index page like mine (only i use an image), and people may click it. be careful tho, cuz if you try to make it an automatic popup, they'll take your site down!

Ooops, looks like I gave praise to soon. I've been waiting 48hours now. Sent 2 support emails and no reply so far. I changed the name servers for my domain days ago, which means my site has been offline 48hrs. I'm glad in a way, at least now I know not to signup for their paid packages. I'd give them a minus 10 if the system allowed me to. Now i've got to change my Nameserver back over, convince my old provider to reactivate my old account etc etc.. thanks 000k, you're a star.

This is an excellent host in many ways. They offer many many services in the easy to use cPanel along with FTP access. The cPanel comes with many easy to install scripts, as well as a monitor of your site's stats and easy access to logs and email. They give you 125 MB of disk space which is very nice. The only reason this host didn't score a 10 is because you are only allowed 500 MB of bandwidth per month which seems pretty low, though you can earn more (by refering a lot of people). Some people have been reporting a long wait, but mine only took overnight.

Well, you get what you pay for. For nothing, I think you're getting a very good deal. Whether the service is here tomorrow is another story. It sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? As many others here I received the confirmation email but I haven't heard from them since then, it's more than 48 hs. I tried again with another email account and I didn't even received any aknowledge.
Please 000k I'd really like to rank you 10, but make things easier and let me login! When something is free you can't have great expectations, but it is so frustrating. I've already lost 3 websites at Freeservers cause I can't login anymore and they don't answer free members queries. I guess you have to be prepare to pay or to go with wellknown and reliable free servers like geocities.

I have not received my login information. It says if there is a mismatch it will be manually created in 48 hours. It has been 48 hours. All of my info was correct. I even entered my adress and phone number. Heh...big mistake...who knows what it will be used for since it obviously is not used for validating my hosting :-/. Did I use a free e-mail account? I don't think so. Yes, I got it free, but it is part of the domain from the website I am staff at....pretty hard for just anyone to get one of these :-/ If they can just get my account working, I would probably rate them an 8, if all the features they claim it has work.

I reviewed a lot of free hosting posts on many sites. Most had negative reviews. 000k had the best reviews and lived up to their reputation. Easy to use. It is free but is difficult to understand that at the sign up page; at first glance there appears to be no free space for learning novices.

Everybody says it's great. But it all doesn't work with my account. After entering my email, i get the email verfication. When i click on the link, I'm taken to the page where I must enter my personal data. After sending this information, i get the signup confirmation. BUT NOTHING MORE! Only signup-confirmation. I can't log in, I didn't get any further emails where they tell me what my password and username is. I tried three times, now i have no more valid email-addresses left.

at first, I was skeptical at giving my personal information to 000k, but I am extremely glad that I did. It is the best free hosting service allowed for anyone. The pages load fast and it is full of functionality. Some of the things offered are those that you usually see in paid hosting. I have had only good things for this web hosting. The only bad thing was that it doesn't support ASP. Other than that it is absolutely awesome!

I got the validation email the first day. Click the link in that. Agree and click submit. Then I got the confirmation email the same day. Once you have entered all of your information and you have got the confirmation email, wait a day, and if you didnt get the Setup email, then email them via the contact page. They replied the next in less than a day for me!

I can't even get registered! I followed the instruction and when I try to register using an absolutely VALID (checked it 5 times) e-mail address, it would say... "Could not send e-mail" or "E-mail address is invaled"*!!! THIS HOST STINKS! DON'T GO WITH THESE DUDES! 100 Web Space all the way!

Fantastic service. Received signup confirmation email at 2pm and had the login information sent the following morning. CPanel is one of the best configuration interfaces I have ever seen - everything that can be done, can be done so easily - makes me feel like a newbie!!! So far so good for reliability - no down time as yet; then again, I've only been with them for a month. Only get 1 MySQL db with the free account but that's good enough for me, and 125MB is plenty.

This host is fantastic. I was looking for a free host with MySQL, CGI and no ads (high expectations, I know) and miraculously, I found it! I thought 000k was too good to be true. It's not. I have 125MB of space, 500MB monthly bandwith, one MySQL database (which is more than I have on my PAID server) and the only major setback was when they had a prolonged period of downtime a few weeks ago. Aside from this, 000k is utterly fantastic and I highly recommend it.

Very good features, but very difficult to sign-up. A Jscript pop-up comes up if you have certain "keywords" in your sign-up e-mail address. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, and previously registered e-mail addresses are such keywords.

I got a account, it wasn't instant activation, so I had to wait a while. I opened cpanel to find I had what they said they did. That was fine, then I decided to give the refer thing and it worked, so I used it. After a while I came back to the cpanel and had noticed the space had gone down, from 130mb (refers) to 124mb. not that happy when you have been advertising them to people. And who wants to enter all that information about you and your isp email?

when I tried to enter my e-mail it gave me an "invalid characters" error--which is garbage because that email adress works everywhere else and only has letters in it. (Unless they had a problem with the "@" symbol that is a standard part of all e-mail adresses.)

I used to have a free account with 000k until their servers went down at the end of August. Since then I've been trying to access my old account but the password doesn't work anymore and my pages don't appear to exist. And of course 000k don't reply to emails. So I tracked down a friend of the admin who tells me that anybody who signed up after mid-July can't be restored because they didn't do any backups between then and the end of August. Over six weeks! Priceless. LOL. So if he won't give you a free account again, you're stuffed.

If you signed up with 000k.com but did not receive an email, your email address was probably not accepted. An error message gets displayed on the signup page, but it is hard to notice. 000k.com does not accept email addresses from free email providers, like yahoo, hotmail, etc.

This is a pretty good free web host. It's worth every penny. However, uptime is only about 80%-90% (about the same as the rest of the free web hosts on the list).

frandt? never heard of it but i think i may look into it. here's the deal... this is a really good host. excellent host. the only problem is, the account activations don't send you back your password. I had my domain pointed to them when they went down a bit ago but heard they weren't coming back so i changed it, then they came back so i changed it back. They offer you everything if you can get your account there. i'd give it a 10 but i am not overly impressed with their support and that is a big thing in hosting. its free though, so what can ya do.

This one is not recommended at all. First it need a ISP email, why? Because ISP email are permanent email which you had paid for whereas Hotmail or Yahoo are "disposable" email. I have my ISP email only used to communicate with my ISP so it is always clean and empty. I try signing up with this a few days ago I did not get any confirmation email about my password or user ID but while waiting for the last 48 hours all I get is some unsolicited email not much about 3 or 4 a days so many people with active mailbox might not notice the increase. What ever it is this is still spam if these guys claimed they didn't do it than they have a serious security issue because someone is getting the registered information from their server. Looking at their website I doubt anyone will use those services offer by them so there must be a way to made money to stay in buiness. Would you believe that people who offer those services will run their business from a data center? Those type of service are usually run by data center itself!

I signed up with 000k and had a wonderful experience for about a month. Then the servers went down (see messages below). Now they claim they are back up with backups of all sites. But that is not the case with mine, and attempts I have made to contact them have resulted in form emails back saying to check the FAQs. My website is gone, and I cannot login for a new account with my existing email address as it is 'in use', so my hands are tied. Until they fix their problems, beware of this site, because if it goes down again, you will loose everything and not be able to get it back or sign up again.

Signup was painless. Great features, and easy to expand bandwidth and disk space on free accounts. Limited to 1 MySQL database. Features are great, but there's a big downside.

I signed up two weeks ago, and the site has been up and down. The MySQL database crashed three times, leaving all MySQL dependent sites in bad shape for many hours. There's no way (that I've found) to get in touch with anyone there to even report that the site or database is down. Several times, the DNS has not been accessible, so I can't even get to the site. Bottom line, great host, tons of great features, BUT servers, DNS & MySQL is frequently down for many hours at a time... no support at all.

Great host! Small bandwidth at the beginning 500Mb/mo but you can increase it. Here is little howto for you from their site:

Get extra diskspace and bandwidth by referring visitors to 000k! Every 200 visitors gets you an increased 100 MB monthly bandwidth. Refer 1000 visitors and you get upgraded to 200 MB diskspace.

I wonder how can you give more than 1 or 2 for a host that does not want to host you? The bandwidth limit is low, but they give you a chance to upgrade it. It comes with full features, good service...contacting them isn't that great. What can you do with 500Mb/m of bandwidth!? My website would use that up in one day. And if you earn more space/transfer by getting visits on your site? Or is it by getting more sign-ups. Its very unclear, and i dont like the idea of only 500Mb/m transfer.

All I can say is that 000K has one of the best--if not the best--free web hosting available. I recieved my confirmation emails within minutes of signup and had my phpnuke-based website up and running inside of ten minutes. I have been at a loss to find any problems whatsoever with any of their services.
Uptime and latency times are outstanding. the cPanel interface is a breeze to use and yet very powerful, many useful webhosting utilities are provided, and I've yet to need technical assistance for anything. Keep in mind I've only started learning how to make websites for a couple of weeks now, that's how simple it is to set up and use 000k as a webhosting service.

As for some of the problems some posters have said about long wait times on the confirmation email, during sign up you must produce a valid phone number (their servers actually dial the number to verify legitimacy) and a valid email address. Also, the email _cannot_ be a free email service like hotmail.

we moved our site and its just the best!! fast, excellent features, in fact all you could want and more! and it's free! My only complaint is my brother signed up and got all the emails except the one with the username and password, if the validation code is resent we just get the same responce that a domain account already exists. I've signed up and have gotten a Validation and Signup email but haven't received my username and password yet. What is taking so long? The support is also equally slow, if not, more. I've been waiting so long MORE THAN ONE WEEK. And the thing says that it takes around 2 days to accept sites. IT'S BEEN MORE THAN THAT. Clearly, I am unsatisfied. Why do some "customers" get theirs BEFORE I get mine? And I've applied THREE times, with fair waiting time.

This service is pretty grand. Everything seems to be in order except that I can't get in to my account via ftp. I suspect I'm missing something about how to log in--has anyone else had similar problems? I'm going in with the ftp server of ftp.[mydomain].000k2.com and login/pass from the 3rd email sent. Free is great, you can't argue with that. The only problem, well - ok, two problems - are... my .asp pages do not function, and their support department does not respond. I have waited over two weeks for a response to a support issue and all that they send is an autoresponse pointing to their faqs page. Dissapointing, to say the least. This site is still in the testing page. I guess I'll keep looking for a free ASP provider...

000k sounds like a great host! However, I signed up and received the first two emails, (Validation and Signup confirmation) and still haven't got the third email with my user name and password. It was already been over a week. Now I'm somewhat uncertain whether this is what is appears to be - a really good free web host, or just some website trying to get people's attention with all the free services. It does sound a little too good to be true. For I've waiting for quite a while now and got no answer. One more thing, I don't know why they need my full address and contacting information. Well, I'm keeping my hopes high, and hopefully I can get the free service soon.

Great! However, it might be a tad too much for a beginner to handle. This is the be all end all free Web Hosting service. It has the most features out of any I've ever seen! And NO forced ads on your pages!? This host uses hosts like geocities as Toilet Paper. The only thing is it says ASP supported, but it doesnt seem to work. The code is parsed... but nothing happens. PHP works fine, however...but I really would like to use ASP.

I montitor my free 000k account for uptime, and so far the uptime has been 100%! So if some liar tries to leave a review on here saying they have 99% downtime, etc., obviously they are a liar, most likely a jealous hosting competitor. Negative reviews are okay to leave if they are truthful information, but not lying misinformation.

this is a great host! I think this has to be one of the best hosting sites around. People join up. If you have a problem about the time it takes to get the site set up this is what it says on the confirmation email:

I created 2 accounts already but I fail to get my user and pass in order to log in to the cpanel and FTP and everything! I always receive a first email where I need to validate the form, I validate it. Then I receive a "welcome" email. But I never get a user and a pass! AWESOME. Best free host I've seen. Better than many pay hosts.
And it's speedy and up all the time, unlike some of the better free hosts (usually some guy running a server on a 128kbps DSL line or something). 1 negative: It's hard to find the free hosting thing. But once you learn to read, and scroll, you're fine.

Their affiliate program actually gives you more than it says. My free hosting account now has 2000 MB webspace and 14,500 MB/month bandwidth allowed, as well as 25 addon domains, 25 parked domains, 25 subdomains, 25 MySQL Databases and 25 Postgresql Databases, 25 mailing lists, 25 email accounts, 25 ftp accounts, etc. This is better than my paid hosting! Great!

They deleted my site for no reason. They didn't even bother to state a reason or a warning email or anything. I didn't even break any of the rules. Now my whole website, all of the pages, the SQL tables... Everything is gone. Don't go with this place, I thought it was too good to be true and it is. I'm ending my free search and just getting a paid host, I suggest you all do the same.

Advantages: They don't have very many server problems (ie. downtimes) and they allow plenty of space.

Disadvantages: Only 1 mySQL/postegreSQL database per account.

In order to attract customers to their affiliates program, the Bandwidth is very small (up to 1/3) compared to other "standard" free hosts. But, if you register for the affiliates program, you will have to put a link on your site (or other site, or emails), you might get more bandwidth.
The registration is the worst; they don't recieve almost all webmails; they require ISP mails. Plus, you might not get an answer, at all. I had to try three times to get the "Signup received" mail. But, the rest of the service seems resonably sufficient.

My Cpanel shows I now have 10 addon domains and 1 GB space, and affiliate panel shows there should be 13,200 MB/month bandwidth (still increasing)! And still no ads, and fast server. Their Cpanel now has links to nice cpanel guides/tutorials. Unbeatable free web hosting! Recommended! It looks like the only negative reviews for 000k are by those claiming they didn't get accepted (either web hosting competitors, lost email in bulk mail folder or spam filter, or maybe used a free email address).

I am still willing to give a fairly decent rating because of what they offer...and I'll wait a while to see if they'll respond, but it's getting hard when you're left out in the cold. I read an article that declares, "you don't want a server who accepts anyone, so allow them to be selective in their request review." However, I also read that "no customer service or timely response is indication of what you will get in the future." Maybe 000K is for those who can wait and for those advanced webmasters who need little help with building and such.

It seems to me that the host who claims 'near instant activation' only to leave some of us completely in the dark after a week - without activation, without any response to emails, without even a public forum where we can gauge how long it takes other users to become activated - well it seems to me they're one of the worst. How anybody can give a good review to a provider that leaves you without indication of whether your application was accepted, refused, or just queued - after seven days of painful waiting, is absolutely beyond me. I certainly wouldn't recommend any company paying for their services based on their incompetence in this regard.

I found out the reason why I haven't gotton my password from 000k. Hotmail may have blocked it. I tried to register under another email and provided the same info as last time, but it says the domain already exists. Is there anyway that I can tranfer my info to another email address so I can finally get my password and name to access my domain that already exists? 000k is the best website, I have ever come across. (Frandt is no.1 because they offer telnet facility also.) They offer PRO-hosting for free! CPanel 9 is just brilliant along with Fantastico. I have included Invision Board forums in my website (you can install any 1 out of 45 php scripts). I have never experienced downtime.

To register for free account:
1. Click on visit 000k link above.
2. Click on 'Order Hosting' at the bottom of the page.
3. Enter your email
4. Check their email (after a minute) and click on activation link.
5. Agree TOS and type all the account details.
6. Now, you will have to wait for 4/5 days for account activation.

This seems like a great deal for a free service. The only caveat so far has been a lack of documentation beyond how to use cpanel. Specifically, I'm having trouble figuring out how to get mod_perl working. I've tried making a perl directory with a .htaccess as described in mod_perl's documentation, but it's not working properly with example scripts. Has anyone done this successfully?

[Try using the folder called cgi-bin, found in public_html folder (where all public files go). Don't forget to change permissions (chmod) on the script.]

This server is a dream save 2 problem. Mainly both e-mail's you need to receive take forever to get to you [The first one is automated and is sent instantly]. Second I cannot see how this can last long it seems too good to be true. Other than that it is a great server that lacks almost nothing to be desired.

the reason for the low rating is that i submited for a free account and never got the response. i give it a 3 instead of 1 because their characteristics look awesome. looks like the best deal of all, if only i could get my account set up...

I think it is a good site with lots of features... but I don't understand how to log in... I have had my validation email with the validation code, and done my setup... but now I don't understand: how do I login ?? because I haven't had a password?

I think this site sounds cool, even though it's also a bit confusing. The site itself seems fairly fast. Personally I like it, but it is EXTREMELY ANNOYING, lol.

After 12 hours I finally got an email back with a user name and PW. The site seems a bit confusing to me, but got the FTP working and uploaded some pages. Files must be placed in the public_html folder to be viewed [that is very common for commercial hosting]. Just recieved an answer from them within 15 minutes. I had my files in the root folder.

An 8 is reasonable for this host, maybe a little too low in some peoples minds. I gave 000k an 8 because of what they said on the index page of the site. I looked around for a bit, and I said to myself "is this owner rich, or just very charitable?" Both of them ran up in my head. I have both pro's and con's about this host. The owner is offering a ton of expensive equipment, and lots of space - Pro. Its kind of unbelievable to have that and the thought in my mind that they are not going to be here for long - Con. I signed up and it went very quick for the vailidation e-mail and I am still pending on activation e-mail after 10 minutes. cPanel and Fantastico quick/instant activation free hosting is extremely rare, so I will keep in touch and see how long it lasts.

What are you supposed to do with 500 mb of monthly bandwidth? It's barely 16 daily megs... not enough for a decent medium-sized site listed in google.

amazing host, simply the best in my opinion, but i do not know how they will last long. but if they do manage to this it will be incredible. this host is recomended, incredibly fast and has easy to use features. plus it has more features than any other one i saw. the only downside is 500mb data transfer a mounth, but referring visitors to there site will increase that. with unlimited file sizes and cgi, php, mysql, asg and all the other programming codes supported or databesses this is sure to become one popular host.
