This pathetic previous freehosting site is now redirecting all web traffic through their HostGator affiliate link (id = prodigyweb). Never trust free web space hosts that rely on users "upgrading" their web hosting to Hostgator for their income to pay for their server. They send you emails constantly (sometimes daily) trying to get you to "upgrade" via their affiliate link, and they have no incentive to keep freewebspace users, so usually have very poor uptime and very limited features, and usually quickly close (like this one did) and delete all the free web sites.

It would not be as bad if they had just informed me they put ads up before I signed up, but when they go against their FAQ and put ads on your site after you already sign up, it is much worse, especially if they do not inform people before they sign up to let them know that ads will be added. There are forced text ads (2 ran together sloppily), and not only that, but the ads prevent my XHTML 1.0 strict HTML code from validating.
