When I signed up there were no forced ads and everything was great. I even recommended it to friends, and they recommended it to their friends. Then the ads came, one at the bottom of every frame of every page. It got annoying scrolling down to see an ad when it used to be bannerless free hosting, and then the problems began big-time when I installed a CMS -- it rendered both of the forums I had installed useless, but I doubt it was because of My-Place. Now the site has been down for almost three days and they keep extending the deadline of when they think the sites will be back up. At this moment the host is horrible.

This website service is horrible. When I signed up they had no banner ads and really good service. Now they for no reason just added in banner ads on the bottom of everyone's sites. I will personally be taking my site off their service and be telling everyone I know never to use it. They are a site that lies to you when you sign up and changes their service when they see fit.

Pros: The website allows you to upload quite a few different kinds of files, the bandwidth is good, and I have never experienced any downtime. It had no ads (at least not at first), and it is free webhosting!
Cons: This free hosting service, sadly, does not tell the whole truth about itself. I thought it was a little too good to be true, and it was. First of all, any "page not found" errors on your website will be FILLED with ads. Second, your home page will have no ads AT FIRST, but in a few months, with absolutely no warning or notification, they will begin putting banner ads on your front page as well as on other pages.
The signup is fast but incredibly insecure. I highly recommend you avoid using any of your "standard passwords". None of your information is encrypted in any way. There is no more open invitation to abuse than a website that offers free instant signup and web hosting with practically no attempt at security. All in all, this service is dishonest and insecure. I started having a very good opinion on this service, even though it was insecure, but when it started sneaking banners onto my web page, I lost interest entirely.

I looked up my website today to get a view of how others see it, and lo and behold, someone had gotten into my pages and physically changed my code to remove my contact page link and added to ALL OF THE PAGES some of their own script for Google ads to appear at the bottom. BEWARE, THIS FREE HOSTING SERVICE IS BAD. The only redeeming quality is the amount of offered free web space and bandwidth quota, but it is offset by the fact that they modified my web pages.

This is a terrible host, and is exactly like several others listed here (all run by Byethost). Sign up is easy and quick, but the control panel is clunky and difficult to navigate. I never did actually get my site working with them. Support is nonexistant, and after I spent a lot of time just trying to get my site up and running, I get an email saying due to "whatever" they have to add a 468x60 banner to the site but will be glad to remove it for a fee. Do not waste your time with this host!

After three days of working on a website for a friend, my-place deleted the site and replaced it with an advert for paid web hosting. Do not bother with this free web hosting service -- it is simply a waste of time, especially when they will not even tell you why they did this, and no terms of service were broken.

The features are so nice. The connection speed is slow for me, but I think it depends on the connection speed of my ISP (turkish telecom) to worldwide.

I love the service provided. I have tried other free hosting services and also some other pay hosting services. I would like to say that your freehosting service outdoes some other pay services. The site is fast, easy to manage and maintain, and the pre-installation of scripts is great. I have not used the support on the system; I have not needed to. The service is great. Thanks. It is appreciated.

I have been using My-Place for about 2 days, and I suppose I am running a forum on it, but it has been very slow and has recently stopped working. I really like the CPanel. When I had a bug on the forum I could use the CPanel to fix it. Now I can not load either the control panel or the website. I can not connect via FTP either, so I am hoping it gets fixed soon.

I love these guys. They have none of that cut-and-paste webdesign junk like you get at some other hosts. You have to do it yourself, and I like that. The user interfaces are simple, but to the point. My-Place, I love you!
