OrgSites is easy to use and has no gimmicks and no forced ads on free website pages. I have used it for 6 years with no problems. I can see no reason not to use it. This is a great no-cost service.

This place is great! My girls do not have to pay for a webservice, and since we have no one with great HTML knowledge, it is easy for me to post away! I love it!

I have several sites up on Orgsites for organizations I belong to. I have used the free website hosting service for over 5 years and have found it to be EXTREMELY simple to use, fast, and it does not put advertising on my free sites. My son set up a website for his boy scout troop (in about 30 minutes) and has since passed it on to younger scouts - it looks like it was professionally done. Since all you do is give the next person in charge the password, they can be up and running immediately from their own computer. The downside is they do not allow FTP tranfer, but that is only for more advanced users anyway (not browser based). Org Sites is browser based, meaning you add directly to your web site (much better for the average person). The bottom line is you can try other free hosts (as I have), but I guarantee you will be back unless you are an advanced web design person. Anyone who does not like OrgSites does not understand that it is for non-webmaster types, so it does not have advanced features not usable and understandable by the average person. Orgsites did it right -- they kept it simple with designed templates and databases and all the functions an organization needs such as mail/member lists, calendars, links section, 10 extra pages, and a proprietary search engine. Don't frustrate yourself; just try Orgsites. Thank you for keeping it simple, Orgsites; we owe you.

If your goal is to maintain communication with members of your group or club, this free site hosting provider is excellent! It is GREAT for people with limited web creation skills. You go straight to entering content instead of spending a bunch of time looking at a blank screen trying to figure out where to start. The front page is a template that you edit, and it is easy to add free web pages.

A simple way to get your non-profit organization, club, or affiliation online! Although it may take a while to get used to the format, you can come out with a really decent-looking site with no ads. Quite a few chapters of the Red Hat Society and many Boy and Girl Scout troups have found this host; there are hundreds of other users currently signed up as well. Although limited in overall scope, this web host contains many useful features (news and events sidebar, membership list maintenance, contact box, updatable calendar, hit counter, etc.). No knowlege of html or web site-building is required. Although given a low rating by the rating system here, this is a no-brainer for beginners; nobody is going to need more than the 11 allotted web pages to tell people about your non-profit organization. (One of those pages is the single header and double-column home page, another is a photo album page, and the remaining 9 are single column simple pages. Currently there is no way to inhibit your own hits to the counter during visits and editing, but it can be reset easily. Summary: Great for beginners / newbies who want a Web presence for their club or group, but not for advanced users, or those who need more than 11 free web pages.
