Since June 1 the downtime record has been lower than 1%. VelHost says, "We had problems with scam sites, lots of them, but now our filters work perfectly. We will have little downtime in the future."

Best free host I have seen. They provide very good support, a fast server, and no downtime thus far!

This is a very good site for launching websites free. You get 30 GB monthly traffic allowed, and more bandwidth if you need it. It is one of the very few free hosting servers with PHP mail() function active. Your home page is a sub-domain of vel4.com. In their website navigation bar is a link titled "Banners" which goes to a webpage with the ad codes. It says you must add one of these Google Adsense ads code on the top of all your free site's web pages.
