It started out OK, with decent service, decent speed, etc., but soon they imposed banner ads which were not mentioned ANYWHERE on the site, or anywhere else including in the terms and conditions, and when I forgot my password and reset it, it also reset my username, so I could no longer log in to phpMyAdmin.

Customer support is second to none! Great job, guys. It does not have too much down time, and the data transfer speed is ok.
BAD : it now forces pop-up ads on users' webpages (previously the hosting was bannerless, and then had banners at bottom of free webpages). Come on, you can do better than that!

Last year I was delighted to find ifastnet. I did make a website for my band, but this no longer exists. Initially the service was fast, reliable and had very little downtime. Slowly, their servers faltered, and then they started imposing forceful banner ads, and finally terminated my account. Their registration page and home page is also filled with popups and ads, mostly the ones that lie to you and always say you are the 999,999th visitor. I will rate it a 5 for the initial great service it had given every freehosting user. It seems they are overly strict about deleting accounts for having little traffic, etc., though you can sign up again with the same username and re-upload your website again if no one else beats you to the same username.

I host several sites on them, with both paid and free hosting. This review is for the free services. They have good features, web space, and bandwidth allowance. It supports domains, sub domains, send mail, pop, and web mail, ftp or web based uploads, Php, mysql, and included scripts. It has no cgi or perl support, but Php takes care of that. Servers are fast, and I have never seen when the server was down, though the database was down for a couple hours one night, but that was taken care of right away. They have great support as well as a support forum and knowledge base. This is the best free host I have ever used in 12 years of using free and paid hosting. You get more here than some paid hosting services. There are no catches, and no forum posting required. They include a banner at the bottom of your free web page by default, but if you send in a support ticket you can request them to be removed. All they ask is if you are looking for a paid hosting solution to give them a shot at your business. You can spend several days searching for a good free host; I know I have, and have used a lot of them out there. Save yourself the trouble and try these guys out. I totally recommend them. If they can not fill your needs, you need a paid hosting solution. Their paid solutions are good values too.

It is free, so can not expect too much, but...

- They took the liberty of moving my freewebhosting account to some other leaving me with a cryptic username, and in the process of migrating my account, all my data was thrown away.
- The initial banner-free hosting account now shows ads on every web page.

+ You CAN get back to bannerless hosting for $12 a year, which would make it worthwhile, if no other snags would appear.

My conclusion: as there is little information of what you get for the $12 (and the exact terms), I feel like the best thing to do is wait some months and see if nothing strange happens. Then probably I will consider it worthwhile to switch to the bannerless account.

I used this host service for 2 months, and they deleted my account without notice, which is terrible. I really do not know why they do that because I have not violated any "terms of usage". I guess that was because of too much traffic or server CPU usage. Their bandwith limit is 30 GB/month. I do not think that 30-50 web site visits per day (on pure html page with few pictures) generate web traffic larger than 30GB. Maybe I am wrong. Even if the traffic is the real reason, they could just block access to the website for the rest of the month, and that would be acceptable for me... but full delete of account?! Everything else about this free webspace hosting is ok and works fine. If your account is deleted, you can sign up again with the same username/password, but that is a pain.

I have been with this free webhosting for almost a year. At first, it was really good because it had no forced ads and no filesize limitation. However they added banner ads at the bottom of web pages without any notification. Its web manage system (now VistaPanel Control Panel) has changed recently, and requires a new username (also used by FTP), which was generated and emailed to you.

I have been with this host for a very long time. I am not exactly sure how long, but it is the best hosting service I have been on. Yes, they have faults, like there was some down time here and there, but they know it and they try to do their best about it. They are fast at replying to your emails. There is only one thing that strikes a nerve with me, and that is the little banner at the bottom of the free web pages that just flash or move around constantly. But other than that, it has never let me down.

Before 1-2 months ago, Ifastnet was for me the best free web hosting I have ever tried! It had no adds and good uptime. Also the speed of the host response was quite good. Their ftp service was excellent. But now it is almost the opposite! I do not know what happened, and they added these ugly banners (all of them are not relative with my site, not to mention the offensive and inappropriate banner that occasionally I find in my site ). Also their ftp service does not work with ftp browser anymore. Their host is often not responding, and I have had many sql connection problems. So I give 3/10 rating. (3 is because they were great months ago.)

A month ago it was a host with no ads, and now I have a 468x60 banner ad on the bottom of every page. Now I have to search for another free bannerless host, and all the web site traffic I struggled to build will be gone.

As a Chinese citizen, I am used to seeing my free hosted sites being banned by the Great Firewall of China (without concerns about the site's content), yet ifastnet is an exception. It is fast (no kidding), reliable, and satisfies many needs for a webmaster who wants to maintain a WordPress educational site. I do not know if the ifastnet staff are reading this or not; if you are, please take my advice of adding a detailed instruction for Chinese citizens to pay for your premium hosting service (we can not pay Chinese Yuan directly?). I will be your first customer if such an instruction is issued (I will go to the UK shortly, and I will pay GBP for the web hosting service, but how about the vast Chinese market?). Think about it, please.

The service was exellent, but lately they had quite a lot of down time, and they added banners, which overlap on your footer content. The Ftp service is horrible -- it is always telling you that there was a timeout or that the host is too busy. Until they resolve the problems, it is practically unusable.

Despite its nice features and fast replies to your problem, the same fact remains: I have e-mail from them stating clearly that the freehosting has NO FORCED ADDS, but there are forced ads now. They are just not honest. I gave 2 in rating because they do reply to your mail. But I cannot give more because being honest is just the most basic essential thing you expect from any host.

I reviewed kindly on ifastnet a while ago because I was extremely delighted with the functionallity and how fine it all worked. But recently there was a lot of web hosting downtime, and now I have found that the service I acquired (previously banner-free, no ads, etc.) has been changed and no longer is offered; now they put ads in your webpage and do not even ask where do you want them or which color would fit best with your web page layout. The service is excellent though, as it was before, but what was great about this free host provider was the no-ad thing, and now it has been lost. ifastnet does not deserve to be listed or rated over the other free webspace providers. It is good, but not exceptional. What a shame.

It had impressive fast account registration and verification, but once registered, I found 2 things were a disappointment.

1) I tried to use Zantastico to install Phpbb 3.0 beta 5, but it got bounced saying "This installer is missing its zantastico-install file".

2) I attempted to install phpbb 2.2.1 on numerous occasions (using zantastico), all without success. Even though I have created a MySQL db, the phpbb installation always fails to connect to the mysql database.

Also there seems to be no obvious line of support to get my issue addressed. Please correct me if wrong.

It is a shame really, because I am desperate to move from another freehost and its continuous infrastructure problems to a much more stable environment. I hoped ifastnet would be the one, but if I can not even get a phpbb installed (which I have done successfully many times before with other free hosts), then it is of no use to me.

The features and freespace are very good: 300 mb, php and mysql. However the server is often down, and ftp connection is slow, and sometimes fails for no apparent reason. Php errors are also not displayed, which makes solving a problem in your scripts quite time-consuming, as you have to look for the error yourself.

It has been an hour since I signed up, and there is no verification/confirmation email, no helpful startup nice-to-know tips or info...no nothing. I do not know what my URL is. I got into the control panel, Zpanel, but trying to upload anything was difficult to figure out. Some tutorials would be useful.

So far, so good. I just created the base for my website successfully. I am using drupal for this, and for the other freewebhosts I tried until now, I could not get my database working since some permission needed by drupal was missing. Not with this host however... the database could be installed without any problems.

The file upload button in the ZPanel page to upload html files is really hard to find -- it is the green checkmark at the top of the net2ftp form (what poor design and lack of user-friendy interface). There is no help available to explain this crazy uploader! At least it works after you figure it out. Also for some odd reason (seemingly a programming error), the IP adress of localhost is displayed at the top of the file manager page: 127.0.0.1.

My website is vanished. They ELIMINATED it WITHOUT warning! Although it was good for some months, my site is not working anymore. Not reccomended except maybe for very short-term uses, such as PHP script development and testing.

I like this host, particularly because they do not force you to use advertisements on your free sites. Another major advantage is that the Control Panel is very clear. A disadvantage is that it does not show PHP error messages, so when there is a syntax error in your PHP code you have to search for it yourself (I have solved this by using another host to debug the code). Another small disadvantage is that the FTP server is often overloaded.

This is a horrible web host. Ever since Bytehost (owner of this host) upgraded to Dual Core processor servers, the host has been horrible! It is slow and has a lot of downtime. You can see your yourself and sign up for it. I used to use this host, and it WAS great, but try it if you want.

It is nice that it is freewebhosting, but the connection is so slow, and I kept on getting connecting errors. I liked the CMS installer, but again with the speed I could not get the basics done.

When you obtain a certain amount of visits, they will eliminate your free webspace account and they will redirect your URLs to a page full of ads that refreshes every few seconds to make tons of ad impressions. I say this from personal experience. If you want to, look up in google for ifastnet, and you will find many subdomains of ifastnet in which visits to them do the same thing. It takes much work to to get a webpage indexed in search engines and to obtain web traffic to your pages, but then this host (and the other Ifastnet and Byethost freehost clones) takes advantage of all that. This host is a FRAUD. Do not use it if you intend to get website traffic to your subdomain.

I love iFastNet hosting. It is 300 megabytes web space (which should be enough to store any normal website), and 30 GB monthly bandwidth is also more than enough for a free website. But what I love the most is that they offer PHP scripting, and they have many PHP/MySQL scripts that can be installed just by one click.

Registration for the site was absolutely simple. Using Zantastico to install Joomla for my web site was also incredibly easy, and I had a site up and running in no time. On the downside, using Joomla for my particular site turned out a bit slow for what I wanted to do. Fortunately I removed the Joomla install as easily as I added it, and now my web site loads fast and painlessly. Great service!

IFastNet provides a comprehensive service, it provides PHP, MySql, and ftp access. It is simple to set up and provides a simple usable URL (username.ifastnet.com). I have not used this service for very long, but the available space (300MB) and download limits (10GB) would not require me to change to a different web hosting provider soon. The only problem is that in the last week (since I signed up) they have not been very reliable at all, with about 50% downtime! I do not suppose that is very helpful. When it is online it is quite fast though, and I do not have any other problems. One feature that might help is some feedback on the administration site for failures in the php scripts on the site.

Ifastnet has a good server and good reliability. I have built up 3 web sites on this host over five months. The host supports PHP scripts well, but uploading files and webpage loading are slow, maybe because my location is in China. Up till now, I have still felt very good about this host and am hoping this host does better and better!

We found this site while looking for a backup to our paid hosted site which works very poorly. The speed with ifastnet is excellent, and we have yet to encounter any downtime. Uploading files is a cinch, either with our own ftp or by using the very comprehensive cpanel. If ifastnet had email service and a virtual domain capability, we'd gladly pay for it and move all of our website functions there. They are the best free website hoster we have found yet, bar none!

There are no negative aspects! Really! I recommend this hosting service! About registration: I do not have much time to spend on registering options, but this has instant free web space hosting -- I got it just like that, in a blink of an eye. I used it for about 5 months, and I still use it. I have not encountered any problem. This server is a fast service. I have tested a lot of different services, and this one is the fastest. I believe this is really the best freehosting service on the Net at this time.

This was quite the free site I desired except for the fact they decided to terminate my account when my forum had more than 80 members. I could not log into my account, and when the members tried to access the forum they got a page full of adsense ads (which is directly against the adsense TOS). My email to the admin of ifastnet was promptly replied as "you have outgrown your monthly bandwidth, and now your site will start functioning after 1 month". Did they mention it anywhere when I signed up? NO. So all my hard work is lost. I lost my website and my forum. So if you guys are serious about web designing, do not opt for ifastnet at least. It is best if you have your own domain name so that you can move the website to another server (keep backups of all files). If you want to learn a few things, I think it is a good start.

Good hosting, but only for first 3-4 months. After that they closed my account. They give you a big account with 30 GB/month bandwith, but it can not manage with 45 persons/day on my site which is almost without graphics. I never had more than 45 visitors per day, but they closed my account. They wrote that it was excessive CPU or bandwidth usage. It was the same situation on my two accounts, and two different scripts. I use these scripts on some other free hostings without any problems. Now my website just loads a page full of their advertisements. Not reccomended if you use PHP scripts and will have several visitors/day web traffic.

I host my website on this server and use the photo show exclusively for my main address (another domain name), and it is critical to that page as my slide show will not run on my ISP webserver site, and I have to outlink to get it to work! The "no ads" bonus makes it a perfect free site hoster!

They have some weird issues. Sometimes they are fast, and sometimes they are slow. I also had a problem a month ago where they changed something and my website broke. I think they changed how the databases worked, making them on a different server possibly, but I am not sure.

IFastNet is good for a lot of people. It provides an easy-to-use interface and a nice PHP script installer so you do not have to do it manually. It is great for people who want to set up a simple blog or webpage. However, when I tried to run my forum, it was very slow-loading and the MySQL database went offline several times. Overall, this website is not good for high-performance things requiring a lot of MySQL queries, like forums. It is easy to use, though.

After much time searching for a good free web host, I find ifastnet is the best one around, providing PHP5, MySQL, user-friendly interface, and so many good features. You only get one My SQL database, but for a small project, it is fine. They offer enough freewebspace, and are a very attentive crew. I really hate server down-time, but for now I have only experienced this two times (one of them right now), and it is only the database server (not much of a relief to me, but yeah). I am really happy with ifastnet, I will give them a ten rating. Compared to other free web hosts I run a site on, it is the best. Thumbs up for Ifastnet! P.S. Their PHP has not got the mail() function activated. But for now, I have not found any freehost that provides this.

I had never used a free webhosting server with a fantastico feature, and I can find it in iFastNet hosting. I think it is just about the same as paid hosting. If you are just learning about making websites and you do not want to waste your money, just try this free webhosting site and I am sure you will like it so much.

This site is pretty good - free hosting with no ads at all, ZPanel controls, and PHP + MySQL. Sometimes web pages may take a little while to refresh after you have changed them. The file manager is also very good; it is Net2FTP with built-in support to change files online and create new dirs and files with 2 clicks. It is one of the best free web hosting websites I have come across.

This site has provided me with only the best service. I have hosted my game's website here for 6 months with very few problems. They are as great of a web host as they advertise. The only issue I have ever had is with web hosting downtime. In the first few months of use, they had quite a bit of time where the web server was down. The webserver downtime was not unacceptable to me, but it was aggravating. More recently however I have seen little to no downtime. I display their banner ad with pride on my website - not because I have to, but because I want to. I believe that this is one of the best free web hosts you can find.

I am trying to set up an IP Board v2.2 on my iFastNet website. During the installation process, it asks me to enter SQL Username and SQL Password. I have no idea what to enter there.

Ifastnet is a really good free webspace host. everything about ifastnet is great, except one tiny little thing: they seem to be doing maintanace regularly, which takes all ifastnet sites offline, which can become annoying. let's hope they do not have to do this anymore.

After so many applications to the no-ads free hostings, this is the best one I can say so far. You do not have to fill in a lot of forms to register, and the transferring is pretty fast. Since I have not noticed the problem of the server downing, I can not have any judgment on that. But I do not update my website every day, and my website does not have many visitors. So I guess it is ok for me.

Great site and service, BUT it often has prolonged downtime. I was recently sent an offer to upgrade to paid service and could not access the page because it had downtime. I would definately say sign up with ifastnet.com. There was a brief outtage on the web server today, and not only was it back up and running VERY quickly, but I had a reply back from their support staff within an hour of sending it! The service is extremely fast and reliable. I have confidence that ifastnet will not let you down the way other free hosts have done with me in the past (one day you have a site, and the next day the host is sold and the site is gone). It is everything they claim to be - extremely fast and useful. The only thing that made me skeptical was that their website design looked a little amateur. The free web hosting service works well though, so I do not care about the interface as long as they do what they claim to. Very good and fast service, I have installed Joomla portal with few steps. I am trying to modify this portal, and the hosting server response is FASTER than 110mb.com and ByetHost.com. I tried ByetHost, but the "install Joomla" link did not work (I click on deploy link, but the result page was not shown, and it returned blank information). Maybe I will try ByetHost again later, but the iFastNet server performance is very good when compared with 110mb and ByetHost.

IFastNet are the best free web host. Below is a detailed analysis of why they are the best.

Pros:
1) No ads. Most free web hosts either have ads or give you 10 mb of space. iFastNet does neither of these things.
2) 300 mbs of space. This is better than some cheap paid hosts!
3) 30 gb of bandwidth per month. iFastnet offers you a massive 30 gigs of bandwidth monthly. This again is better than some inexpensive paid hosts.
4) You are allowed a free MySQL database.
5) In your Zpanel, a CPanel look-a-like, you have Zantastico, a Fantastico-like scripts installer for blogs, forums, CMS, wikis and shopping carts.
6) Instant activation. You fill out a short form about your username, password and email address, and hey, presto! you now have a free website.
7) Great Support. All of the times that I have had to contact iFastNet, the replies have been fast, casual, and easy to understand.
8) Zero Downtime. So far, my website has been hosted with iFastNet for many months, and I have experienced no server downtime.
9) iFastNet have very fast servers, the fastest I have seen for a free web site host.

Cons:
1) 404 ads. While they do not put ads on your web pages, the 404 and other error pages are advertising.
2) MySQL databases can be hard to navigate and set up for webmaster novices (newbies).

And that is it! As the pros outweigh the cons, iFastNet overall is a good webhost, and as the pros point out, it is the best free web hosting services provider.

Three negative aspects: 1) I can not figure out how to tell how much of the disk space is used. 2) During the file transfers by ftp, there is an interruption as soon as the transfer is finished (I do not use net2ftp). 3) It would be better to be able to personalize error 404 pages instead of going to their banner pages. If not, all is very well. I have less than 15 days of use, but so far the webserver is reliable and fast. The free web site host's support/features is good. I tried several free site hosts, and so far, this is the best:

- PHP5 (contrary to the otherwise excellent Awardspace.com)
- Very fast registration
- No catch like unauthorized file extensions (110mb.com looks great until you realise you can not put .xhtml or .keylayout filetypes, and you have to ask for a .htaccess).

On the downside, it seems impossible to browse the FTP server while uploading. Not much of a problem if you ask me, but I had to say it. A bigger problem is that I can not auto-create tables for my database (e.g. installing a software that is not bundled with zantastico, like DotClear 2 from http://preview.dotclear.net/wiki/Download)

This is a definitive no-no for me, and that is really a pity because for the rest, it seems to be a great freewebspace service. I wanted to give a 10 rating, but not with these problems.

This host is the BEST! My favorite part is not having banners on my free webpages. The reason I gave it a 8 rating though is that I just finished installing a 12MB script via FTP that took 2 hours to upload and went to use it. It complained about not having the PHP FTP module. I am very angry at this. Other than that, I like this freehost. I plan to email support about the FTP module. If they can not/will not install this for me, I will be looking for my fourth host in a month after my first two disappeared overnight, and this is my third try.

This is just awesome! Registration was incredibly easy. There is an intuitive control panel with the ability to point and click to install PHP apps, and a MYSQL database is provided too! At first it seemed to be a nice provider. They even answered my mails for support. But some days ago I got really disappointed! They deleted all my files and closed down my freewebspace account without any prior notice. No time to let me make a backup whatsoever. At least they informed me about closing my account AFTER I asked about what happened. But what does that help me now? The reason for closing was server load. Well - they could have taken my web site offline but still give me the opportunity to copy my files. But this is apparently too much to ask for free hosting service. It is a pity. When the server is UP, this is a nice free web host with no pop-ups or banner ads, and it is fast. But, as I said, WHEN the server is UP. The SQL server they provide goes down a LOT, making any blog or forum site completely useless and inaccessable. I know it is a free host, and they have no obligation to be up 24/7, but this is pathetic. Do not offer php scripts that rely on an SQL server if you are not able to keep the SQL server working properly. This little annoyance makes my free website useless 95% of the time. I will be looking for a different free or low-cost host soon.

Be sure to use Firefox when using this host. IE does not quite cut it. While it is an "Ad-Free" host, it does send ads up whenever a link is broken on your site (error 404 page), which is not a big deal except that the ad script tends to interfere with your admin controls from time to time. The Zantastico script installer works well once you set up your database and follow the directions in your welcome mail. The free web hosting server performance seems to be fast, and the file administration area is pretty powerful. With a few tweaks to the ad script and a few cross platform adjustments, it could be an excellent free host.

What's great about iFastNet? One word: EASY. They give you free and easy setup for blogs, forums, etc., and include a free FTP client that is simple to use for complete newbies. The only downside? There has been some server down-time, but the support team has always been helpful, and have consistently helped me solve my problem. There is a cpanel with filemanager and fantastico php installer, which was pretty easy. Basically, you have complete control over your free website. Somehow I can not unzip files even though there is an "unzip" button. Also it seems impossible to install any cms's or forums other than those listed on zantastico, and most of them are out of date anyway. If you do, and you go to the install.php file, nothing comes up. This happened on another free web host except it was fixed once I tried their unzip function which actually worked. Their ftp server times out extremely quickly, but I guess it is ok for my purposes. There is no support forum either. Overall, however, I believe it is an okay host, providing free php and mysql hosting. It would be nice if it could disable php safe mode too.

My mysql database is gone after an upgrade of your server. I still have an access on my FTP and updated the old "localhost" thing. But still I can not view the uploaded files. also when I browse at the phpmyadmin, it says "No Database"? Where did it go?

Positives: it is a web hosting company, not a hobby. This means it is more reliable webhosting server. I have known many hosts that have been started by people as their hobby, and after some days, the host dissappears.

Negatives: I do not know any.

I have used this free homepage host for only a few days, but if you see how long they have been online, that tells enough. It is pretty reliable. I do not know the percent downtime, but I have never known of it having down time. They have multiple dedicated servers, so actually there is not any downtime. The web servers are very fast! It is good enough to host a large site, although, of course, do not expect to host a website like youtube for free.

It is really great! FAST! NO time out errors! But free space is 350mb, and I need more for my website, about 500mb-600mb. No complaints so far. Having no ads on your free web pages is a big plus, meaning it is a truly FREE web host. It provides more than adequate features for my simple needs. The best part is there is no file sizelimit, unlike many other freespace hosts. I wish there was an indication of bandwidth usage, as there is a bandwidth cap according to this review site.

You get huge free web spaces: 300 Mb! Amazing. You also get PHP, MYSQL and PHPMyAdmin included - fully useful. There aare a great variety of tools in Fantastico, and the same for DNS utilities. However all good has something bad: PhpMyAdmin is very slow -- it spends years in loading. It is really annoyng.

This has to be the best free php mysql host I have ever used. The freedom that comes with the freehosting package is the best I have seen. The only downfall I have seen is the cPanel File manager. I have some troubles with this, but not enough to turn me away. Because of the FTP support I am not too concerned about the web file manager. Thanks iFastNet, and keep up the good work.

In the beginning, about a month ago, I would have rated this free host a 9 out of 10. The features are very good. But in the last week the server speed has deteriorated to such a level that the host has become almost unusable. Web page timeouts are frequent, and phpMyAdmin has become completely inaccessible. Additionally email functionality has been disabled recently, making it impossible to use a forum, which requires confirmation emails. Time to look somewhere else for free web hosting.

This is a great host, with lots of webspace and a lot of php scripts you can easily install. I only saw 1 bad point: it is a bit slow. For the rest, I would say take this free hoster. It is really great and really easy to use the zpanel to manage your website.

Ifastnet is good, but not great. They give you a decent service for a free hosting account, but their phpmyadmin never works properly for some reason. Access to freehosting accounts is slow, and sometimes very slow. I would prefer if they do not penalize free accounts when it comes to speed. I can understand not providing all services for them, but there should be no compromise on webhosting speed. Other than this, they have a very good admin facility and an excellent interface to it. The Zpanel admin software is great. They even have a web based access for the FTP server as well as a regular FTP connection facility. The Zantastico option is also an amazing feature - great if you want to quickly install php software. They provide one-click backups of the database, which is also a great thing.

In short:
(+)s: Adminstration, setup, site access.
(-)s: Slow website and phpmyadmin, and you can not have more than one database.

This is by far the best free web hosting service I have ever came across. You get plenty of space and bandwidth, and the best thing is there are no ads on your webpages, and there is no file size limitation either. Perfect for me. IFastNet is really free web hosting. There are no ads on your freepages (only on 404 pages). You do not need to post in a forum, or complete advertiser's offers. It is fairly fast, but the FTP upload timeout is short (60 seconds). MySQL databases are fast (just find out how slow some database hosts are), but PHPMyAdmin is slow at best. My only complaint about features is no domain hosting! The amount of free webspace is good -- 300mb is a lot for HTML files, and should be good for a medium-small website. Although my web site is fairly low traffic, this web host claims to provide a whopping 60 GBs of bandwidth per month!

Strange...first I uploaded my website, and everything was nice and happy, but then an hour later, I could only access my free home page, index.html, and all other webpages got redirected to some strange site with tips on web design.

[Note by webmaster: I have had a free website there since they opened, and by subpages work fine. So maybe you have spyware or someone got your username and password. It would help if you gave the URL of your website hosted there.]

It has a great web filemanager where you can do most of the job, edit, renaming files, deleting, etc, and you can also upload zipped files. You can also access via a ftp client which is fast and reliable in this server. There is also a script installer utility called zantastico which lets you add some php applications in minutes. It was very easy to create a MySQL database in Zpanel, but phpmyadmin was very slow.

This site was great (I rated it 10 yesterday), having fast service with great web hosting features, and had nothing wrong with it. But now the sendmail feature has been disabled due to users mass mailing and spamming, which means my forums will no longer allow people to sign up, and I have no smtp server available. My forums must now be scrapped, and I must look for another free host that allows sendmail, and restart my forums. It saddens me to leave ifastnet, but I need to in order to create and keep a forum running. They offer free forum hosting, but without the sendmail function it is useless.

Note that this php environment does not support the IMAP module. Otherwise this is a very good free php hosting website. I have had no other problems. It would be good if the php variables that are available were given on all sites beforehand in a user-friendly way, but they usually are not. This webhost is absolutely something to consider. You have a great amount of free webspace/diskspace, 350 MB, and you get the possibility of uploading through FTP, and the banner-ads are optional! Your free homepage must be active within the first 7 days of your sign-up (meaning you will have to upload something, create at least one page), otherwise your webspace will be deleted and you will have to re-apply for freehosting. THey really are a great host! You should try it out!

Iastnet is one of the best freewebhosts that I have seen in my whole life on internet. It offers 350MB (the space needed to host a forum, a blog, and a website with good graphics). MySQL is really rapid, and the responses from the server are really rapid too!. The web pages load really fast, so no waiting for the users. The Zantastico installer is what really IMPRESSED me - a rapid script install of the most dominating web engines in a second.

IFastNet are the best free web site hosts. They have absolutely no ads, a massive 300mb of free space, and a whopping 30 gigs of bandwidth each month allowed! The only problem is that they only support FTP uploads, but that does not matter because their CPanel has a built in FTP client. They rock, and I highly recommend them.

Ifast is pretty easy to use for a beginner user, and has great FTP access speed too, but the free online storagespace is limited to 300mb (or 350mb), which is too small to host a multimedia forum. Anyways, great site!

You know, at first this seemed like a great free webspace service! However things quickly went sour for me. I run a website that barely gets 30 unique hits a month. I host no music or video. Needless to say, at that ratio, I should have been in NO danger of bandwidth. But they ignore their bandwidth amount anyway. Now, my web site does contain a php/sql based game, Legend of the Green Dragon. However, I used to run the exact same site from my home computer (Pentium II 500mHz, 256M RAM) on an Apache/mySQL setup. At the same time I was using this computer for web surfing, game play, and other normal uses. Not ONCE did the website even cause a hickup or minor slowdown. Why did I move off my home computer? Well I got a new job that required traveling, and it was easier to work on the website elsewhere than try to VNC from my laptop to my home computer all the time. At any rate, my site was only on Ifastnet for a few weeks, a month at the most, and they shut it down. They claimed that my website was using "excessive system resources" and was "slowing the service down for other users". Now I have a little trouble believing that my pidly, tiny site that ran without slowdown on a lousy Pentium II was slowing down their commercial grade server, but, whatever. They left phpmyAdmin access up so I could get my databse, and this was all fine and well. BUT, they refused to allow me FTP access or anything else to retrieve my page files. As I was on the road at the time, I could not simply get the originals from my home hard drive. I was nice and tried to explain all this to them in email with their support. I was even nice in my emails. They did not care at all. They would not explain to me how my site was commiting these excessive system resources offenses, nor give me any evidence thereof. Actually, after a few replies back and forth, they began ignoring me completely. At any rate, if you actually intend to USE your database for anything, I would not recommend these guys. I am still trying to find a good free hosting alternative.

This free phphost is excellent in terms of set up time. There is no need to confirm through email. It is easy to use for a non-IT person like me with some software already available through their fantastico tool. My only complaint was that they did not already have Moodle as one of those fantastico applications.

I chose this free webhoster service, as they appeared to have everything I currently want and also things I might need in the future, and they had also had some positive reviews from other users. I was looking to build my web site on another host but was put off as the service seemed to be such a hassle even from signing up! I have only been with them for the past week, but my experience has been problem-free. The free hosting server has always been quite fast for me, and it has not been down while I have been with them. This site really offers excellent value: MySql, PHP and many PHP scripts and applications that can be easily installed through the Zantastico interface (you have Blog, CMS and many other great tools). Besides this, the free hosting package offers plenty of webspace (with no file size limit), and good bandwidth, and, so far, I did not notice any hosting downtime with my website, though sometimes it appears a little slow. This is quite a good host -- no ads is always nice. The Zpanel control panel is far from as good as the Cpanel on other free web space hoster sites, but it still is good. I tried using the Zantastico auto-installer, and found it pretty good, though again not as good as the normal Fantastico script installer. I could not find an option to uninstall the forum I made either, so I had to do it myself manually. Overall, it is good for people who want a simple free site, but if you want a more advanced host, there are better free hosts if you are willing to have small ads on your webpages.

All the free hosting features are good enough, but I hope that they work as they promise. I had a small trouble getting the My SQL running, but then if you consider the zpanel, etc., it is kool. My trouble started when I installed the wordpress on this. the ftp works really fine, and so far it is good, but then it has immense trouble with wordpress - really slow response time from the server. You can not get anything in, and you can not edit your posts. it is like you can not do anything at all. I am having a hard time here with the Wordpress script.

This is a very good free web site host, but unfortunately not as good or as easy as I had hoped after seeing the 7 pages of relatively high ratings and rebiews. It is very easy to create a freehosting account, and maintain it. zantastico makes installation of pre-selected scripts a breeze. I however wanted to find a free host which would host either phpgedview or retrospect gds. I had no problems uploading phpgedview; however editing/creating a gedcom was an issue, as it seemed to have exceeded some sort of memory cap, which in essence just halts everything (I think the memory usage cap is reset every so often). I initially chose phpgedview, as I wanted to be able to use the mysql db for a forum. So I deleted that script and tried the other. I had problems with uploading retrospect gds, using both coreftp and smartftp -- files or dirs would not be created, and coreftp would skip the files/dirs it could not upload and continue with the rest, causing some files to be incorrectly placed. Whereas smartftp would just stop if it could not create a file/dir. Net2ftp as used by the control panel is good, although not as swift as conventional ftp programs, and the unzip feature does not seem to work. however I feel these issues are more related to the software and not so much the host. Anyhow, eventually I was able to complete the uploading of retrospect gds files using smartftp by auto-skipping files which already existed on the web server. Installation of retrospect gds went smooth as silk. then the gedcom import again capped the memory limit, but in this case maybe five minutes later it was all good. My retrospect gds site is up and running. What I truly like about this host is the lack of limitation with filesize uploads, which for gedcom users is a good thing. but the memory cap thing is not good. Overall what they offer is very good, and if it were not for the memory cap limit I would consider it excellent. I wish them well and hope they continue long into the future. I do highly recommend this free host web site.

This freehost is one of the best I have seen. it gives you features that other freehosts do not. when I first signed up, there was a couple of errors that came up, but they have seemed to stop now. the negative thing is a script was running that needed a file to be uploaded by the host, which was a bit sad. I could not run the script, but apart from that, everything else is good. this is a really good free host, and yes, I would tell people about it. I have used this host for 2 weeks now, and it has been very reliable.

I was originally with geocities back in the late 1990's. I migrated to ghostshark.com and web1000 for brief periods of time, and then found byethost22.com. Byethost has been an acceptable freehost, but I was starting to get complaints about inaccessibility and I had trouble too accessing the webpages and frequent ftp disconnects. So I went looking for another free host that allows unlimited file sizes, legal mp3's, at least 100 MB of disk storage and 1 GB traffic monthly. Well, ifastnet.com fits this need quite nicely. I have 350 MB storage and unlimited bandwidth. I signed up on the web and was able to access the free website immediately. It FTP's immediately. FTP speeds are as fast as my upload speed is (about 450-460 kpbs)! I tested each web page created and legal mp3's I created, and all downloaded blazingly fast (up to 1.2 mbps). I haven't recieved a welcome e-mail from the free web hoster yet, but since I can do everything I need, that will be an afterthought. I am very happy with this web host so far!

I had been meaning to move my advert-infested website for months now. I stumbled across free-webhosts.com about an hour ago and started going through them in rating-order. The iFastNet specs were right on the money (free, 50Mb+, no filesize/inactiviation limits) and reviews were consistantly raving. Zero activation time was a great first impression. As I type this freehosting review, cuteFTP is uploading my whole website effortlessly. I gave up trying to use their ZPanel to upload my web site; single-file uploads worked fine, but uploading archives and unzipping them did not work for me. I cannot comment on what my free website's uptime/availability will be like, but I am so impressed thus far that I am thinking of putting their logo on my website even though they do not enforce it.

The free web site hosting plan is very attractive, but I do not know why my account's site went down 3 times in 2 weeks when other member's are not. My website contains no illegal contents, just an anime website! Cpanel seems good, but some options do not function properly, like disk usage -- it still shows 1.92 mb, but I already used about 40-50 mb.

IFastnet is in my experience a good, reliable free webspace host. I have been with them about a month, in which I have noticed no downtime whatsoever, and it has been at a very respectable speed. There were some slight problems when signing up (registration email was fairly late, and without it there is no contact address for the host), but were resolved by themselves in a couple of days. The 300mb storage space limit is plenty spacious for me, and the 3gb cap is comfortably large, though I can not find a way to monitor my usage. The interface is run by Zantastico and is very user-friendly, intuitive, and features various different forums, blog software, and CMS. It is a shame that there is only one SQL server allowed, but as a free host I am reccommending this to friends and clients.

IFastNet is very feature-rich for free hosting service: PHP, MySQL, with ftp access. Features missing are only logs and ssh access. No advertisment is required, but they would like to see their own banner (standard 468x60 or 100x100). Their home page says it is "banner free - No forced adverts". There are some size restrictions, too. The web hosting speed is reasonably fast.

At the time I wrote this review, this free web space host offers ALL of the most popular and practical features of the paid hosts (SQL, PHP, FTP, pre-installed scripts such as blogging software, CMS, etc.). I have found this free hosting server to be quite good. Once you log in, there is very clear information that I tossed into Dreamweaver to upload, which worked great. The web server speed is not an issue, and the free web space alotted is more than enough for a basic web site. I have not noticed any down time, and signup was easy. The only thing I can ask for is more bandwidth, but 30 gb a month is already really good.

Amazing! It has no ads, big file size limit, 350 MB, free short subdomain, and the Net2FTP tool is AMAZIING! The extract archive option is jawdropping compared to other free hosts, even pay services. It is very speedy, INSTANT service. The server is great, runs the latest version of Apache, and supports almost all types of scripting, even mySQL database, and it does not cost a cent! I have been using ifasnet for a couple of weeks now and have not had a problem with them yet. I used zantastico to install Joomla, which worked first time with no problems. I have tried awardspace before, which has a lot more features, but their webserver had lots of problems with fetching image files. With ifastnet this has not happened once, and the web pages are fetched quickly. Like I said, the features are basic, and you can not configure your domain name to point to the hosting directly, but the web pages get served without problems, which is the main thing.

Ok, so I tried about four free hosters working my way down the free hosters list. Each one had various issues, primarily as I was trying to install Joomla (I could not on any other one I tried). Then there was ifastnet. Sign up, login, create database, install Joomla from zantastico (hoster based auto installer) - done. When I say "done", I mean I was editing my website in about 15 minutes. Unbelievable! Also they come across as being quite professional, having spent time and effort on their website. There is no clutter in thier control panel. It is purely focused on getting your free website up and running. No uploading, chmodding, etc. needed. It has very reasonable allowances as well, with 30GB traffic and 300Mb web space free. There are no forced ads, so I will put a link to them in a useful space to my website so they can have more hits. Cheers, ifastnet guys!

It took some days to get my free web site running. I had some problems with the .htaaccess file. I am using drupal 4.7.3, and it is working quite fine till now. So I give this site 8/10 rating for a free site with no ads, php 5.1.6 and My sql 5.0.1 or something. 1 Database, 1 FTP account - "Zpanel" shows only these features that can be used (really):

1. Disk Usage (MB stored).
2. MySQL (thankfully PhpMyAdmin is there).
3. "Zantastico" - script installer, but scripts are not up to date (they are a few versions back, but that makes all the difference; so practically this is useless?)

There used to be the real cPanel here. Why remove it? Also advertized as "running a cluster of web servers".. yet any directory above /home/belgrade/ is not accessible, so in fact this is shared hosting? (i.e. only www folder is available). There is no File Manager, so for example unzipping (currently) Joomla_1.0.11-Stable-Full_Package.tar.gz on the server is not possible.

With instant activation, bandwidth limit 30GB/month (impossible to check?), and a couple of other great features, it is really a shame to have to give only 8/10 rating. also this rating would be lower except the guidelines state: "rating relative to other listed free web space hosts", and there are some really lousy hosts listed here, so...

iFastNet free hosting services were closed for several months because they said it was not successful due to Cpanel WHM not suiting mass free hosting accounts. However they have re-opened it now. It is running a cluster of web servers running a new hosting config model, with different free web hosting features, such as a new control panel, Zpanel, and a Fantastico type auto-script installation service, Zantastico script installer, for fast installation of forums, CMS's, photo galleries, blogs, and Wikis. There are no file size restrictions, no file type restrictions, and no forced banners or pop-ups. The ZPanel control panel, by Zee-Way Services (thezpanel.com), lets you see disk usage stats and create mysql database and login to phpmyadmin. Your free subdomain looks like username.ifastnet.com. FTP uploaded files fast (you can find FTP server name in the control panel: ftp.ifastnet.com), and the free webserver was very fast. PHP Version 5.1.6 works, and there no banners, no popups, and no ads of any kind put on your hosted free web pages.

Great host, only been set up recently I noticed. as soon as I signed up I got a confirmation email, and the signup is very simple to follow and find, unlike other hosts. I had one tiny problem with MySql databases, but sent them a trouble ticket on their support thingy, and I got a reply back within the hour. Also their Fantastico things allow you to very very easily add forums ect. to your webpages, with NO hastle. its great Excelent host. Keep it up.
