| Description: |
The "File Den" free file hosting service lets upload your image, document, audio, and video files to put links to on other websites, auctions, communities, or to share with friends and family. The free filesharing service has an unregistered version where people that do not want to register can anonymous upload files up to 50mb in size with these file extensions supported (images only): jpeg, jpg, png, gif, bmp. With free registration, each user gets 500 MB of personal allocated storage space and many other features to make sharing files easy, such as ability of uploading more filetypes, such as mp3, txt, avi, wmv, mpg, mpeg, doc. If you are registered, you can upload files that are as large as 50 megabytes each. If you are uploading many files, there is a batch upload feature -- simply upload a Zip file (must be named "upload.zip" or "batch.zip") containing all your files. There is no specified time limit that hosted files are removed from the free filehosting server -- files stay there "forever". Hotlinking (direct linking files) works, but only on files that are uploaded by registered users (i.e. not uploaded to the server using the anonymous uploader). The maximum downloads per month is 5GB for free accounts. FileDen is currently running on a modified version of the celerondude.com script.

It is such a great site to use. It is so hard to find a decent file sharing site that will let you upload flashes, movies, songs, etc., free of charge and has a lot of useful functions like file sharing. I use this site to host my flash files and audio files, and they are easy to access and share! This is a truly great site. 10/10 ratings from me!

I have been using Fileden for quite a few months now, and it is really good. The drawback is that sometimes the file server can get slow to upload, but the overall service is so good that we can overlook this little thing. I give them 10/10 rating, and I hope they will carry on giving the best free filehosting service. When I get a bit richer (LOL), I will upgrade my account to a paying one. Well done, File Den.

I have been using fileden for a bit with great results -- reasonable download speeds and reliable uptime. However, lately the service has not been as good. Maybe they have become overloaded? I have had difficulty logging on at times, and also downloads have been somewhat slow. Hopefully this is just a temporary hiccup with their service and not a sign of things to come. But overall I can not complain, considering it is FREE hosting.

I tried 10 free filehosts in a row, and they all had something that was bad about them (like no direct file linking), but this one seems to work, and supports direct file links!

The bulk upload help page appears to not be on their server now. However I am forever grateful for the info found here. Overall, fileden rocks - it is much better than PhotoBucket.

Not bad at all. I saw no option to know how many times my file has been downloaded though, which many free filehosts have. The interface looks very messy, but works okay.

Hotlinking is allowed, and all you have to do is log in every 30 days. The download speed could be faster.

There is no inactivity time-out, and it has hotlinking allowed -- excellent!
