"Village Photos" is a free image host compatible with WebTV, eBay, Yahoo Auctions and Stores, other auction sites, EZBoard, and more. Free users get storage space for 50 images, URL filtering to prevent unauthorized hotlinking/bandwidth theft, access to their Page Designer HTML tools, image rotation/resize/compression, thumbnails, public and/or private online photoalbums (photo galleries) with titles/captions for each image, create and send online greeting cards using your own images, order prints of upload images, and can post the images on other websites. You can FTP upload images or use browser upload. Direct linking images is allowed ("hot linking"). Free signup is required. Several paid upgrade plans are also available for more features. Limitations: Maximum 50 images; GIF or JPG file formats supported; File size limit 250 KB; 1000 MB monthly data transfer (pictures in public photo albums have no bandwidth limits); 90-days inactivity limit.

I started out with a free account and was so impressed with the service that I upgraded, and as my auctions grow I will upgrade more. I have recommended this service to my friends because it is so easy to use and it is very dependable. I love the features and I have never had to use support. Village Photos is the best for me. I have been using this free service for a few months now. I have not encountered any downtime with it. Photo uploads are very easy, no need to try and find instructions, its just instinctive. Image size is limited to 250k for the free account, although I dont feel that has restricted my use in any way. Definately one of the better photo sites I have tried, and I have tried several since the glory days of Photopoint (no longer around).

I've been using village photos for several years now and I LOVE it! I started out with their free hosting and have upgraded. For those of you starting out and needing a place to host images on the web for sites or auctions this is the best and most helpful place to be!! I also have to say that I've NEVER experienced any down time with their site and it is also very user-friendly.

I started with the highly recommended free hosting service and now have one of the biggest plans vailable. Now that bandwith is on a monthly allocation instead of daily, the service is even better (only rollover of unused allacation could improve it!... hint, hint). Been with Village for near a year now and can only recall one single downtime of a few hours. Check out the sister service Ripway.com too.
