"The Image Hosting" is a free image hosting solution that can be used to share pictures with friends, post images on message boards and blogs, and direct link images from your personal website or online auction (hot linking allowed free). It generates thumbnails for photos that are larger than 200x200 pixels in resolution. Registration is required to use the service. Limitations: You may upload as many images as you like, as long as each of them is less than 1024 kb (1 MB) in size; File types allowed: .jpg, .jpeg .gif, .png, .swf (Flash files); You are not allowed to hot link fullsize images on any large-scale, non-forum websites; No images will be deleted for inactivity.

I used to highly recommend this image hosting service, but I can no longer do that. Sometime within the past month or two they have started to NOT allow hotlinking to full size images. That defeats the purpose of an image hosting service in many instances. All of the full size images that I have displayed in my web journal do not show up anymore. There is a blank space where they used to be. Keep in mind, these are not extremely large 1600x1200 size images. Usually they are 400 pixels max on the largest side. So it is not like I was being a bandwidth hog or anything. I may be able to still use them for my online store, as I prefer to display thumbnails there, but The Image Hosting is no longer useful for my journal. Sadly, now I have to take time out of my busy schedule to research and locate a replacement free image hosting service.

Unlike a certain popular image hosting site I used, TheImageHosting loads faster, and is straightforward in its purpose, but minus a couple rating points for lack of image slideshow option.

It is better in terms of service. its interface is user friendly and quick to upload files. TheImageHosting.com is in my opinion the best free image hosting web site, and I hope to continue to upload my files, i.e, images here only. Thanx.

TheImageHosting.com is a great place to host pics. this free imagehosting site allows you to host unlimited pics free, as well as hotlink, and thumbnail! you can only upload pics that are less than 1mb, which is still pretty good, considering that other free image hosters give you far less. the only down side that I can think of is that linking back to your images gives you a huge banner at the top of the page, but really, I think it is a pretty small price to pay when you consider the service you are getting. very reliable, very fast, and very cool. eight fingers and two thumbs up for me!

The imagehosting server used to be good, but now it sort of stinks because I cannot get the direct link of the image to post on message boards.
