Their FAQ states that the freely hosted images will not be deleted from their hosting servers unless the image files violate their Terms of Service (TOS).

Imageshack is absolute simplicity. In a world filled with three hundred question forms, "free" news-letters, and a mountain of pop-ups, imageshack is a very refreshing service. Especially useful for showing less technically minded people an easy way to get their pictures on the web. A definite 10.
