Their FAQ states that the freely hosted images will not be deleted from their hosting servers unless the image files violate their Terms of Service (TOS).

I use Imageshack.us for mainly any type of pictures I have to load up. It's dependable, it doesn't shrink your images to a size where it can't be restored, and it's pretty fast. Except this one problem where whenever I have to load a large image, like maybe a desktop screenshot, which is pretty big, it takes a very long time to load (Which I expected since the picture is big) but after it's done loading, it just brings me to a blank screen with the imageshack.us buttons at the top. It doesn't show me anything. I don't know, maybe it takes a while to load, because I waited a while, even after the bottom bar thing said "done". But overall, I think imageshack.us is the most reliable image hosting source, and I'll always use it.

This is a fantastic image host, one of the best, if not THE best i've used. The webhosting is extremly flexible, you can upload quite large images, in most of the popular image formats, and now even flash. You can also easily upload a zip file with images in just one click. And when your files are uploaded, there's no bandwith limit, which means they are always available, and they are only deleted if they aren't accessed (viewed on a page) in a year. The dedicated servers are extremly reliable, as of September 13th 2004 they had a 99.9946% uptime.
Another good thing is that there's no registration needed at all, although you can register if you want to manage your images easily.
Perhaps one of the only downsides is the log in system, which requires you to click a link in an e-mail or make a favourite entry to access your images (no username/password).
I have never actually needed to use any support features with this host before, but they do now have forums which are pretty active, and a contact email.
This is a wonderful free image host, I have always used it for my image hosting needs. I would definately recommend this free host to people, and I would also recommend not trying any others as this one is probably the best you'll ever find.

I have just stumbled onto this amzing service and found it to be outstanding. Its quick and easy to upload pics and ad them to forums etc. Just a overall great service and will recommend it to all my friends.
