Limitations: File size limit 1.5 MB; File types allowed: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, tif, tiff, swf (Flash). Their FAQ states that the freely hosted images will not be deleted from their hosting servers unless the image files violate their Terms of Service (TOS).

Imageshack does everything, it's free, the ads are unobtrusive and neccesary, consider you are getting 1mb of hosting for each image, I have used it since early 2004. It has about 99.5% uptime, the images stay on there forever. And best of all, it's fast. Kudos to Macbeth and imageshack!

I've tried direct linking photos to my high traffic page on a community website with countless different hosts, and not one host allowed enough bandwidth to their members' accounts for my pictures to be visible for more than a few hours...except ImageShack. Best hosting I've encountered, with virtually no limitations. My hotlinked images have NEVER been unviewable.

Service is appaling. Images go missing for NO reason and are not recoverable. They even nuked their messageboards, so you can't even get any technical help or see what's going on now.

A few months ago I'd have been given Image Shack a 10. Since then it seems to have been going downhill by absolutely covering everything in ads, and half the time it doesn't seem to be working. If you want something quick to show someone, use this, if you want a longterm image host don't bother.

It's not difficult, you can upload all sorts of file-types, and you can upload up to many storage space.

I'll never use Imageshack again. I dont know what has happened in the last few months but the service has turned terrible. I've got ebay auctions finishing and none of my pics are showing in the listings. Thanks alot imageShack. No wonder your overall rating is below 9 now and your on the 3rd page! Will not be using ever again!
