Photo Bucket is a free image hosting company for ebay, online auctions, classifieds, message boards, blogs, live journals, and online photo albums. You can easily upload, categorize, add titles and delete images as needed. Direct linking is allowed, and there are tutorials for directlinking images on eBay auctions, MySpace, and Xanga. You can upload up to 20 pictures at once. Photos larger than 1 MB are automatically scaled down. Their BucketStamp is a dynamic imaging tool for you to share multiple images in a single link combined with some interesting animation, a form of photo gallery for your pictures. Limitations: 1 GB storage space; 25 GB/month bandwidth; 1MB (1024KB) file size limit; Extensions allowed: .jpg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .swf (Flash files); Images must not contain any weird characters (numbers and letters only). The uploader converts bmp and tif to jpg. You can view the most recently uploaded pictures. Users in the UK have the ability to take any of their images or photos and publish to their mobile phone. You can optionally upload images via a regular email address. Also now features free video hosting -- users can upload, share, and publish video clips free up to 3 minutes long and 100 MB filesize (5 minutes in length if you are a premium user). Now serves over 500 million images a day. Photobucket has partnered with FilmLoop to make it easy for users to instantly create their own photo "loops" from existing image albums by simply clicking on the "Loop It!" button/icon in their photoalbum. FilmLoop is a free photo broadcasting ("photocasting") network/application that lets you broadcast photo "loops" to all your friends and family, displaying the photos in a "loop" on your computer.

This is one of the best image hosting sites I have ever seen. There are no restrictions on the size of the images (apart from 250KB, I dont think I will ever reach that limit). The interface is wonderful and fast. the only glitch is that the image doesnt update immediately, but that does not matter. I have been using it for an year now, and I have had no problems at all. I would definitely recommend the free image host to anybody.

I first started using Photobucket in June 2004. At that time, I was looking for a free photo hosting website with a good amount of storage space, and few pop-up ads. Photobucket was a dream-come-true for me. However, over the course of the past 6 months, it has slowly degraded in quality. I can understand that this is due to an increase in accounts, but I think that it is irresponsible for a free site to become worse, and more ad-laden as time progresses.
Photobucket is great because it is so simple. The interface is straightforward; it didn't take me long at all to upload some pictures and link to them on my eBay ads. However, now the site has many ads, and it is not entirely free anymore. The $25/year payment plan is quite cheap, but should not be there in a truly free photo-storage site. At first, the mission of photobucket.com was to provide free hosting that had no limitations, but I guess greed got the best of the owner.
In terms of reliability and performance, I have only had one problem ever in my six months of usage. What happened was that my images would not load whatsoever. This occured for about one day, and then everything went back to normal. In general, the images load reasonably fast; I have no complaints in that area.
To sum up, Photobucket.com was great at first, but it has been slowly deteriorating in quality. However, it is still free and has many greats features. I would recommend it to anyone with thinking twice.

I give 8 because the terms of use are 16 and older; there are 13 year olds that have site and need photobucket. I would use it but I am not old enough. I am 13yrs old.

photobucket is great. i just wish i could shorten the file size of bmps without making it too small. the staff is doing a great job!

Disk space 25 MB, Monthly bandwidth 1,500 MB, Max image size 250 KB. Positive: It allows direct linking and even has a HTML generator. Negative: The max image size is 250MB only. I would recommend this free hosting to anyone who can't afford paid-hosting. I have been using this since 2002. This free host is VERY reliable. Never once (for me) has my pictures turned up as x (s) on my websites. The host is fast. Even my laggy pentium 2 goes quite fast on this site. Yes this host's features are good, even though there is a max image size. reason: how often do you see HTML generators? Plus, the features are easy to use and are good.
